Me too.
RL is dominated by the cozy club of the RFL and Chairmen who are happy to sit back, cut the players real earnings and watch the sport drift slowly but surely to semi-professionalism.
A shake up is exactly what is needed. |

IIRC, Lowe knows a thing or two about Rugby League. |

It's obviously rhetoric to try to fire up the fans (to an extent) though the bit about needing a nice draw gives a nod to their own true opinion of the likelihood. But the cup is knockout and anything can happen in knockout games. Nobody gave Sheffield a chance in 1998 even after they had got to the final (IIRC they knocked out Leeds and other SL clubs before turning us over at Wembley). Get a coach like John Kear who is good at getting lesser teams to punch above their weight and they could concievably get to the final, at that point its up to who wants it more on the day. London made the last 8 last season (due to an easy draw) despite being awful in the league. Wire won it from 10th in 2009 with a difficult route to the final after getting a more capable coach in.
The draw scenario does not even need to be as extreme as the one pie warrior posted. It would only need the main contenders to knock out each other to put a newer name on the cup. For example
Round 4
Wigan beat Leeds
Saints beat Wire
Hudds beat Hull
Round 5
Catalan beat Wigan
Hudds beat Saints
QF
Cas beat Catalan
All plausible results and it wouldn't need a massive number of all SL ties to pan out that way. Salford or any of the other less successful SL sides making the last 8 are then left with only Hudds (who have a history of losing big games) of the bigger names to contend with. I'm not saying it is likely but that is the sort of "nice draw" that could end up with Dr Koukash leading his team out at Wembley in August. |

Said that when Dr Koukash came to RL he is a business man and is passionate about winning whatever sport he takes up .He will find it hard to progress in RL with the SC as it is with the new Bradford chairman coming on board as well its time for a shake up .The players are not available in this country to progress as he would wish the only way short term is to go after players like he did with CHASE,MORLEY and SAM all rejected bids.Lets face it the SC has not risen in real terms with inflation its gone backwards if anything and if I was a player I would legally challenge the right to not earn money outside of the game .OK the SC restricts the player to what he can earn in the game but outside of the game there should be no limits in what he earns ie appearance money,tv ,modelling,sponsorship etc as long as the money is not coming from the club he is playing for its a restriction on a players right to earn money. |

A player can earn money away from the game. Sam could go and earn money as a part time salesman at Currys if he wanted to. I think the problem occurs if the company that's paying that player has any involvement with RL. Bradford got stung a few years ago when Harris was getting money for something and then that company advertised in the Bradford matchday magazine. |
