A team which has previously only won 6 games in 32, you think they will win 5 out of the last 6?

23997_1287161421.jpg
Great game of rugby league. Fantastic atmosphere, Wigan were breathtaking and dominant in all areas for the first 25 minutes, coupled with us making alot of dumb mistakes, then fortunately they brought McIlorum on which helped us back into the game. I thought some of the tries we scored to get us within two we're out of this world stuff. Towards the end we had to force it a little and we had a few things go wrong, i.e Monas kick on the first for King and Solomona going off who was causing havoc. Wigan were clinical in their eventual execution of us. Proud of Wire today and gave us a little glimpse to the future. Silverwood was awful as per, but I expect no less. Tomkins is a world class player and by far the best english player in SL. Wigan are a champion side and would be a worthy winner of taking our title as challenge cup. Good luck over the next month and a bit.
:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_23997.jpg |

29281_1270406980.jpg When Maurice sold me to Leeds something changed, it just not the same, the passion inside me just wasn’t the same as running out at Central park for my hometown club.
We need a change of culture here; we don’t want to be just happy with playing ok on Saturday at St Helens.
Ill make sure that from now on things will change, that players will be under pressure and will train a lot harder than they have before.

| Listen kids let em stew in their own !!
Their adventure into the limelight is soon to come to an end, another couple of years and theyll either be defunked or in serious cack.
Karma is a great thing, and I will p1ss myself chuckling when they do go down as I can clearly remember one loyal 25 year tic holding a placard to the Granada cameras with the infamous 75-0 scoreline whilst he was queing for season tickets. How I will love to meet up with the clown when the inevitable happens (thats if he still "supports" em).

| I'm really ambivalant to the football but reading the childish drivel on the site, cockneylatics, most of the comments are puerile at best. we do pass comment here thats true, but the comments over there are just what you would expect from a 12 year old. i have made 2 posting and rest assured i will not be returning to the crappy, garbage filled site..... must be that time of the month...

| I am a born and bred Evertonian. Old enough to remember my first game in the 70s watching Everton beat Newcastle United at Goodison when the likes of Andy King and Mick Lyons were playing. I started watching Wigan RLFC when I moved back from Yorkshire in 1992 and have been a season ticket holder at CP and the DW ever since. In many respects I fell out of love with football but in love with rugby league. Why? Simply because football to my mind is not what it was. Its the cheating and hypocrisy of football that gets to me and the fact that many (not all) of the players, are basically overpaid whiners! Addd all that to the lack of sportsmanship in football and its no wonder that I prefer rugby. Rugby is everything that football is not. Don't get me wrong I still look out for the Everton result and watch them from time to time, but I know what I prefer to watch. As for the Latics, good luck to them, I hope they stay up along with the likes of Blackpool and west Brom. the likes of Martinez ,Holloway and Hodgson are the good guys in football and deserve some success.

| For me it's history. When Wigan RLFC started, Wigan Athletic wasn't even an apple in its mother's eye. Wigan RLFC is where Wigan's sport heart is!

| Since our dear brothers last had a crowd in excess of 20k which was back in April 2010 weve managed 4 20K+ crowds and another one guaranteed next week V Stains. And when you think of the promotions Latics have had on tickets for home fans such as 3 for £30, 2 for £20, bring a mate for a fiver and the infamous 'big ticket' giveaways, then take into account the huge away crowds that come to the DW..well ermm....
Just check out the facilities around the town for the amateur RL clubs...St Judes, Hindley, Rose Bridge, St Pats, St Cuthberts then compare them to what the local footie teams have and we can see that Fosters field just doesn't cut it...
Wigan a rugby town? Well it certainley isnt a Wigan Athletic town thats for sure...

Apart from the last few lines about wanting 'tics to stay up this post echoes my thoughts about football nowadays. I do watch football, but non league. There's no question Wigan is a rugby town. Come end of May I could be very, very happy for so many reasons.

If Blackpool beat 'em this week its 'praters for our brothers in blue. I aint counting my chickens though yet.
Ive got mixed feelings wether I want the team to go down, on ive nothing against the team, club or the loyal 1500 that went during the dark, dark days when a blanket was being walked around the ground for people to throw cash in due the perilous financial position that the club was in at the time. BUT I really really can't wait to rub as much salt, sh it, cack, bizz into the wounds of the five fingered knuckle shufflers that performed a colour change a chameleon would have been proud of on the 8/5/2005. I know of ex-mates, work collegues, family members that ditched their Utd and Liverpool shirts and were now 'proudly' parading around in their brand spanking new stripey shirt thingy. Funnily enough over the past 2 years or so they have become more and more distant to the Latic cause and now have returned to speaking fondly of Rooney and Stevie G....ankers the lot of 'em
