| Didn't we officially sign Gasnier at 1 point or am I mistaken?

I think there was everything but an official announcement.
Lots of media specualtion fuelled by Gasnier's wage demands at St.George and our chairmans activities in Australia.
Then we officially announced the signing of DV - i believe 'Wigan add Kiwi Polish' was the headline in the Observor.

| Iron Man Davies 1965ish was a headline grabbing signing from Welsh RU. He played 1 game. Rumour had it that we had confused him with John Mantle, who played in the same game that our scouting team watched, and who went on to become an all time great with Saints.

| Doesnt really count but i think it belongs in this thread.
Can't remember which newspaper but im sure it was either the Observor or the WEP that printed a picture of Andrew Johns when it was in fact Mathew Johns who we had signed from Newcastle.

Mostly correct, though I don't think he scored (v London Broncos). The Cas game was an absolute nightmare for him.

| I remember a good Schoolboy prospect who signed and made his first appearance in the match against Bradford to celebrate the switching on of the new Floodlights. His name was Graham Mayor and he came on as a sub but may have played under the A.N.Other title. I'm not sure how many more games he played because I think the Van Bellen brothers went a fair way to putting him off the professional game. Used to have the programme but lent it to someone and as usual never got it back

i don't think Graham Mayor played any other games for the first team. His son was on our books a few years ago but he crossed codes and went to play on the wing for Sale.

He got absolutely destroyed by Paul Mellor.

| Doesn't Desi Williams now play for Wigan St Pats? Or is that just a look-a-like?
