Barrie Mcdermott is a thug. There aren't many ex Wigan players I have no respect for, but he is one of them. His opinions count for nothing to me.

Ps. - I was going to describe him as a one eyed thug, but thought better of it just in case the PC brigade got over excited.

McDermott got shown the door at Wigan and he has never got over it.

The man is a complete tool , as is said his comments could influence referees not only in a game against leeds but in any other game too and not only will the refs have an eye on Sam there will also be players who will try to take advantage of the situation . but hey lets look at it on the whole and think what a ridiculous comment it was from a bitter individual , so Sam Tomkins who's what , 5'7" and built like a racing snake can hold a man (sinfield) down using the strength of his chin , fair does that is some super power . when all is said and done in the two incidents that were highlighed Sam had to keep a grip on that ball through fear of losing control , and there is no way on this earth that he held down either player each time the Leeds player could have dragged himself free , think about it they have been using similar tactics to gain penalties for the last 5/6 years they were just trying to turn the screw the other way .

Regardless of who wins tonight or tomorrow - I can't see Leeds making it four in a row.

If either wire or Wigan win; then Leeds will have to play them next week. It will actually suit saints if either the giants or KR win - as they will pick them to play and send the other to leeds.

Even if you make it to old trafford; I can't see you beating saints this year with all your injuries.

Also, the start of next year will be difficult with the continued absence of key players - so you might end up in a similar position next year...

Whilst sky have done a lot of good for the game ,i do worry about teh influence thay have on refs, there are many occasions when the commentary team have gone on and on about a particular players style of tackling or running style and before long refs have been out there penalising every time the player is involved ...it's very worrying...what tomkins is alledged to do happens in nearly every tackle by every player ...tacklers try to make out they are being held so they can't break free and the tackled player trys to make out he his being held down....it's the game FFS lets just get on with it..it's the tacklers responsibility to get out of the tackle and let the play the ball take place

At least it isn't the on going, usual, now boring, unfunny banter about Terry O'Connor or prop jokes.
