| Quote: Cruncher "Agreed. It's only been suggested that Fielden should rediscover the form that he once showed. That's far less a stretch than asking Long and Pryce to show the sort of form that they've NEVER been capable of.'" I may be mistaken, but Sean Long's got more Lance Todd medals than your whole squad put together (3 more, has he got 3 more than your whole squad?). Even if you don't rate him, if he produced like he could/can, you'd be in serious bother.
Pity for us he's half blind.
On Fielden; I know he's been a bit of a running joke since his big money transfer, but the last year or so (from what I've seen) he's sorted himself into being a proper, if not exceptional, front row again and is naturally heavy enough to do a decent job for you guys driving and tackling. His next contract negotiations might be a little hard for him to take though.

Well if he doesn't have it anymore, it's better than never having any like Jon Wilkin!

The relevence in our posts ? Never going to happen
The relevance of your post? It's a million miles worse than the OP's!
He's closer to the Fielden of old than Pryce & Long are/were (Even at their Peak) to Johns & Fittler.
Your point is?

| We need at least the Fielden of the past few weeks and if possible a vintage Fielden preformence. We've only ever had a couple of those but what a time Saturday would be to give us another. If he's not up for this one then he may aswell retire as should any of them.
Hopefully the help will be there in the front row from Prescott, Feka and Coley. I reckon Coley has had abit of a hardtime on here in the past couple of weeks due to his errors against Cas but if we looked at his stats from the HKR game he was our best prop again. He made 130metres and 20 tackles which is good going and the side is going forward well because of his and Prescotts form aswell as the newly found form of Fielden and Feka.
Hope they keep it going.

I'm sure he'll be up for it. From what I've seen of Fielden this year the effort is there........... in fact he's been pulling his tripes out! He just doesn't seem to be able to reproduce his best.
However lets not forget that his best was absolutely awesome. A lot of the critisism he gets is because he doesn't produce that form these days.
So what does he produce.....................
Well in my opinion Stuart Fielden is still a very good prop forward and wont be found wanting tomorrow!!

Didn't someone mention irrelevant posts?
Shaun Edwards has got even more medals than Long, so naaaar!
The only trouble is, he got old too.
Deal with reality, kid. It'll make these bitter pills easier to swallow.

Cunningham as well respected as Faz only in Saint Helens.
Please don’t tarnish a true RL legends rep like Farrell by grouping him with that cheating KFC.
Any one that gets extra money from GB to keep him in RL and then walks out on his country isn’t a legend.
Any one that fails a drug test doesn’t deserve to be grouped in the same breath as legends like Farrell.
Farrell is twice the man, player and captain KFC could ever dream of.
And before you start I do respect Saints players like Graham, Gidley and Wellens and past players like Sculthorpe.

He's still a very good prop when the effort is there which it has been these past few weeks.
He's been found wanting at times this year though in the effort stakes and really struggled because of it. He seemed to be really stuck in a rut around the time of the semi final against Wire but his poor preformence in games leading up to and including that game seems to have kicked him up the backside and he's now playing well because he looks re-energised.
He'll never be the vintage, rampaging and snarling Fielden again but I agree when he's on his game he's still one of the better props in superleague.

Sorry to burst that bubble but Ricky Bibey doesn't have any Lance Todd medals... but i get your point.
Fielden has been quite improved lately but if you lot are honest it wouldn't have been hard. Even so his performances are only slightly more effective than Hargreaves who is being ridiculed on here, and his defence is actually worse.
To me he has definitely benefitted from being relegated to the bench and being used for impact rather than the early game graft.
In relation to the opening post i agree if Wigan got the Fielden of 5 years ago it would greatly improve your chances come Saturday.
But if everyone played to their best ever form Saints would be a hugely more difficult task Wellens, Cunningham, Gidley, Pryce, Long in their pomp can be outstanding, christ Flannery played for Queensland and Meli was a world beater

Bitter pills? Had my fill in the early nineties, thanks. Never fancied going back, you should learn to appriciate a bit of genuine banter.
