| Quote: MrSmith "In contrast there are many Wigan supporters who have been honest enough to admit in earlier threads that they would prefer that Wigan RL play at a stadium that they owned rather than the DW.'"
For me, if it was a choice between owning a stadium with an 18k capacity or less (such as Warrington currently have) or lease the 26k DW stadium, it's lease all the way.
Our average last season was over 16,000 and we attracted five 19k+ home attendances.

Yet Warrington's revenue for the year will be significently greater than Wigans.
If the game is to compete with the likes of RU and the NRL then clubs will have to generate bigger revenues so that they can attempt to comete salary wise. Owning your own stadium provides opportunities to do so. Pros and cons in renting and owning but I do believe that owning your stadium is the preferred option.

Have you accounted for the earnings from Central Park?

Wont be for this current year. We have a bigger stadium to take receipts from with higher attendances too plus we have prize money from the cup.

Refer to Matty B's post that I responded to.
We can add Hula89 to the £25 list as well.

| They have corners now, so expect revenue to at least double.

Wire may have posted a bigger turnover but surely their unsuccessful season concerning major trophies and large overheads of stadium maintenance would have lead to reduced profits.

Christ that's rich coming from a Saints' fan. Last profit Saints posted was reported in bushells of corn.

So to get it straight, we are talking for the period November 2010 to October 2011?
And how much is significe(a)ntly?

The bet was higher.
Last time you asked me what significant meant was to do with Joel Tomkins' salary increase and you went missing after my response (just like you did when asked to split your 1,600 figure into facilities last week).
In relation to Central Park; what is thwe ownership arrangement? Has the counicl provided a lease to the Wigan / Central Training partnership or are the council also part of that partnership? Who will be responsible for maintenance costs, you seem so worried about the up-keep costs of a stadium that you must be having sleepness nights with the worry of the running costs of a school!

| The other team who share our Stadium had a massive turnover of £43m in 2010 but still came out with losses of £4m. So much so that their owner had to tranfer £48m of debt into shares which wrote of the debt the club owed to him.
Is it all fooking worth it?
Meanwhile we're making a modest (but growing year on year since IL) profit, investing in other areas slowly, (Central Park Education Centre / South Wales Venture), our training facilities at Orrell have often been quoted as the best in the league by far and we attract the best support in the league by far (along with Leeds) and have done since the mid eighties.
We're doing alreet.
