| I know the guy who got the big block of tickets (it was eighty odd) and to be fair that same group are at EVERY AWAY game.
I have to be honest I would much rather they got their tickets than people who are only interested because it is free.
There is no simple solution, other than not doing such a stupid promotion again in the future.
Is our product so bad it has to be given away?
NO
So why are we?
This pot of money that is being wasted in this way could surely have been better spent.

simplest solution is to do what Liverpool used to do in the 70s (may still do it).......give out a numbered voucher with every ticket.
the ones with maximum vouchers got priority, then downwards etc...making it that fans who went to most games got priority on cup and euro games .

| Its in the Evening Mail today that currently the Capacity for Craven Park is 4300, early next week it should be getting upped to 5400. Then if various safety requirements are met thet hope to get it upped again to 6275. It seems they are waiting on the Cumbria County Council.

But they sell out away trips every week. This kind of situation off memory hasn't arisen for Wigan since 1995 when we drew Batley.

Comes back to the same repeated point. I paid on the day at Hull so how would the ticket office know I went?

| Just been to pick my tickets up for the Barrow game.
Asked to see my season tickets (no problem), then had a 5 minute argument with him, as he insisted that the ticket office kept the season tickets till after the Barrow game !!!
He had to go and see someone before he agreed to had back the tickets.
Simple question, just what kind of idiot are they employing there.

All computerised now, they can keep a record of away attendances against people's 'client code' from their season ticket.
They should say if this situation arises in the future, people with away attendances will get priority. That will encourage people to pre-purchase tickets for away days - which is a good thing because a % of pre-sold away ticket revenue goes to Wigan.

Despite the relative merits of the 80 people that actually received those tickets, it doesn't make it right that one person is able to do it. What was stopping someone who hadn't been to an away game all season from doing exactly the same or worse just because it was free and they decided to get a group of fans together to make the trip?
The club has failed in its duty to allow all season ticket holders a fair opportunity to gain a ticket under the promotion in view of the allocation being limited, by not imposing a limit of tickets being obtained by individuals and has further ripped off fans who couldn't get to the ground by using an 0871 number for sales.
I'll be there, even if I have to buy a ticket from Barrow, but in doing so I will actually be more than £30 out of pocket in trying to obtain supposedly 'free' tickets to the game, only to then in the end have to pay anyway.

Quote SRCYOU HAVE BEEN DRAWN AWAY.'"
Thanks for pointing that out.
Quote SRCCraven Park has an 'adequate' capacity. '"
Obviously it doesn't if only 10% of our season ticket holders can get what they were entitled to? 25% minimum should have got tickets as that would be an adequate number for the offer that was on. Why should fans who go home and away have to stump up cash for what should have been a free game just to benefit you? If the RFL want to promise season ticket holders free access into the fourth round challenge cup then it may have to consider what happens in situations like this cause imo it's caused unneeded headaches for fans. Simple answer imo would have been free fifth round ties but seeing they don't wanna do this you should have been forced to move the game.
Quote SRCI can't believe the arrogance of some fans. What do you suggest we do? Make sure every Wigan season ticket holder gets a FREE ticket and turn away our own PAYING fans ??'"
It's not arrogance it's all about getting what you was promised before hand. It's not an anti Barrow rant but sadly it's not good enough.
Quote SRCYou will probably get extra tickets in due course. And you'd better sell them ALL after all this bleating !'"
That’s the problem if we do end up selling them to our fans. If these tickets come available later they should have been available from the start.

| Here's a revenue making suggestion for Ian Lenagan.
Print vouchers in the programme.
Buy a programme and get a voucher.
For the "big" or "awkward" games, vouchers have preference.
I now don't but a programme, but if that was the scenario I would.
More revenue for Wigan and a fairer system.
