| Quote: Phuzzy "Well if we're only talking about recent games then your done as we can't look beyond them to see that you're potentially better than your recent form. Strangely, when it comes to Saints, you're not operating by the same rules and are using earlier form to say how good you could be in a month's time with literally no evidence that this will happen. Yet when it comes to Wigan, only recent games count so we "can't say how good they are" (sic). Have a word with yourself mate.
Yes, we were the better team at magic until we had a man sent off. Apart from an early penalty, you were never in front in that game. The scoreboard doesn't lie.
Of course, 1 team winning with 12 against a toothless opponent (you still need to clarify this point if you want to go back there Stu) means ALL teams should win, regardless of any other circumstances or who the opposition are. Yeah, that makes perfect sense...'"
Saints were easily the better team at Magic for me. They did what they do best which is suffocate with their defence and play the game almost entirely in our 40. We still could have won with fewer unforced errors (the biggest one being Isa's at the end) but we need to find a way to avoid them winning the territory battle to the extent that they did.

Just ask the referee to enforce the offside rule that should do it.

Yet you managed only a penalty and, that aside, were behind on the scoreboard for almost the entire match. Go figure.
You speak as if territory is the be all an end all when, in fact, it's only one metric among many. You can spend 79 minutes in the opposition half but if you fail to score and the opposition score during the 1 minute in yours, you lose. That doesn't make you the better team. Just the one with the most territorial advantage that you fail to turn into points. See how that works?
Answer me this: You recently beat Huddersfield with 12 men on the pitch. If they spent more time in your half than you did in theirs in that match does that make them the better team on the day?

Answer me this
You're like a dog with a bone aren't you. I bet you are one of these people that argues night is day and vice versa
Your own coach admitted we were the better team (as do some other Wigan fans) and what are you actually achieving if indeed you were the better team? You still lost. I don't get why you are so pedantic over this.

Our own coach said you were the better team because we lost. Do you think he would have said you were the better team had we won?
I'm like a dog with a bone because I'm suck to the back teeth of such as yourself saying that the only thing that matters is territory as if nothing else matters. Winning the territorial battle is important but no more important than error rate, for example. You can have all the territory you want but if you drop the ball at the end of every set, you won't win!
I've said before that, for a team like ours, territory is not even the most important metric. We can..and regularly do..score from anywhere on the field. Errors and penalties are therefore FAR more important than territory. Unlike yourselves who generally need to win the territory battle to score.
At the end of the day territory is the most important metric to your team. If you keep judging who is the better team by what Saints need to do to win then, in your opinion, you'll always be better because you're judging by your standards. As I pointed out, the only metric that ultimately counts is the scoreboard and, penalty aside, you were never ahead in that until we had a man sent off. You can cry "but we had the most territory" all you want but it doesn't change that fact.
By the way, when it comes to a dog with a bone it's rich that you can't let any reference to Saints not being the super dooper best team in Superleague pass without comment. Calling the kettle black much?

Firstly I think we are the better team because we are 4 points clear at the top and have won 2 out of 3 games against you this season.
Secondly if you do actually read my posts you will see that a) I have argued against other Saints fans on Redvee not to use injuries as the be all and end all despite us suffering more with injuries and suspensions than at any time in the last 3 years, b) I have admitted on here that Wigan are the form team and would likely start favourites if the Grand Final was next week and c) I can't guarantee that our form will come back. I have admitted (again on here) that we look busted and fatigued.
So how do you infer from that I think that Saints are the "super dooper best team"? What I won't deviate from is that we are the best team at full strength. I do think that 100% and to be honest most of your fans would agree with that too (not you of course undoubtedly)
EDIT- I'm not sure either that I "bang on about territory" I just think we were the better team on the day full stop

And I don't. So what's your point?
Edit: So what metric are you using to determine you were the better team on the day up to us having a man sent off?

Which are biased to say the least.
In my humble opinion Wigan are better than Saints because they have the only trophy in the cupboard that was contested so far this season and had to beat Saints (second best) on the way, would like to point out the likes of Walmsley/Makinson/Percival were on show that day.
now if you win the Hubcap you will be the most consistant team (that is the next trophy on offer )

| I'd still say saints have the edge as much as it pains me. We have definitely closed the gap but would still say where not quite there yet as the best side in the league

That's crazy logic. It's like saying Latics were a better side than City as they beat them in the FA cup final.

If I was forced to say it I would agree only because they have won more games ,but as I would like to point out they did bottle the only game that meant anything and it was against us.
We will see how it pans out.

Were Latics second in the table and a better points difference,We are still in with a shout at the League if we manage that are we not the better team or if we win the GF is it then we become the better team.
When do we become the better team as we have already won 1 cup so far.

History tells us that we are a better team. The only way to judge it is trophy wins and we are miles ahead.
