| The thought that he had to travel to Wigan probably. I never knew he was so attached to his golf clubs. As for the mitigation his brief should have got a couple of months for contempt with this pearler -:
He added: "He takes his responsibilities as a sportsman very seriously."

| you see this type of behaviour every nigh on reality shows police interceptors etc. And when the scrotes get another fine and another ban for endangering peoples lives I always think instead of using another ban lock them up for the period you were going to ban them for ensuring they are off the roads.

| Quote nottinghamtiger="nottinghamtiger"Wigan’s main issue should be that he was out on the razz after midnight when he was due in for training the following morning. If that’s how he treats the club that have offered him a lifeline, within days of starting, they god knows what he’ll be doing once he’s got his feet under the door.
The fact he’s been caught drink driving in a car that’s uninsured and doesn’t have an MOT just makes it worse. And the stupidity of trying to evade the police by running off and even then claiming not to be the driver is just indicative of his poor decision making.
But from a performance point of view, the fact that Zak thinks it’s okay to go out and get battered when he’s due in training the next morning is the biggest worry,'"
Were does it say that he was uninsured and no MOT as that would have been stated in the court case and a bigger fine.

He was arrested on the Tuesday night, Wednesday was the players day off.
Have you never had a few pints when your off work the next day.

Plenty of times. But I haven't jumped into a car after six pints.

I posted this about Zak and how Wigan's chairman would handle the situation back in September
Quote The Biffs Back="The Biffs Back"We all knew that he was gonna screw up again but not before he made his debut FFS!
Very interesting to see how Wigan handle this incident so soon after he has started training with them especially as the Wigan chairman said this upon his signing
Quote The Biffs Back Ian Lenagan warned that Hardaker cannot afford any more controversies.
Lenagan said: “This wasn’t a decision that we made lightly. We recognise the serious nature of this incident and our choice in offering this opportunity should not be seen as condoning his actions in any way.
“We had extensive conversations with Zak and his family before making our offer.
“We encountered a man who, after eight months of reflection, openly admits that he has made a series of significantly poor decisions over the past few years.
“Crucially, we also saw someone who recognises that this is the final opportunity to focus on delivering the achievements his talent should generate.
“I have had the experiences in business and sport of offering contrite individuals the final opportunity and environment to learn from their mistakes with some notable successes and occasional failures.'"

Wigan have previous and didn't cover themselves in any glory with the way that they handled the Bateman/Mossop incident, when perhaps the end result was perceived by many that they simply decided to just keep the only player worth keeping ability wise rather than who did what and to whom
I could still envisage Zak playing for Castleford in 2019'"
How will Lenagan now handle this situation after stating that Zak can't afford any more controversies but now that he has been found guilty of drink driving prior to him even lacing up his boots for Wigan?
An awkward situation without a doubt for Lenagan with how he handles this
I feel sorry for Sam Tomkins who has been fantastic this season and has played his best rugby since his return from the NZ Warriors and has been allowed to leave Wigan the club he loves, to sign for the Catalan Dragons for 2019 onwards, when I'd guess that it wasn't his preferred option

Was widely reported when he was arrested and charged.
Those offences will have been dealt with by means of a fixed penalty I’d imagine.
As a criminal offence, the drink driving had to come to court.

He was meant to be in training. He’s not part of the main playing group.

| With drink driving the defendant is arrested for that offence and it's standard procedure to charge with all document offences. The defendant then produces those documents at court and those charges are then dropped hence there been no mention of the document offences in the court report
