I have just been speaking with the Sale Chairman and he informed me he had just brought him in from Wigan. Must say I had never heard of him so maybe he was mistaken.

Ian Thornley to start for Sale after impressing in last two outings.'"
He's starting to find his feet now and is enjoying learning a new game. Good luck to the lad, he's certainly getting the just rewards to a level our game just can't begin to think about competing with.

Think you proved Harvey Sampson wrong not me, but then again the bloke did ask me if Huddersfield still had a rugby league team so maybe I should not have taken his word on where he recruited him from.

| Jimmy Lowes joins McDermot at Leeds with Matt Adamson supposedly on his way as well. What's everyone reckon?
Not the greatest coaching team ever assembled in my opinion, none of them have a previous history of running successful teams, far from it in fact. A real interesting season next year for Leeds.

| yeah duno what role mcclennan played in all this but if he was responsible for getting rid of the backroom team - poaching and cummins and then jumping himself it seems hes well and truly screwed them over. I think mcdermott will prob do a decent job but when you look at it its more or less a whole new setup and thats not likley to gel staright away.

It is fairly amazing and says a lot about the lack of talent in Rugby Union. Thornley is a very average player was probably our 7th choice centre at best. Indeed he didnt even come close to getting a first team game at Wigan, despite being 19, and yet he has already had so much first team game time with Sale.

Don't let the truth get in the way of a good story and a chance to stick the boot in to RL

Agreed. Only for Thornley's studies he would have been further along the progression ladder than he was. (Probably would have made a few first team appearances, certainly would have been loaned out). Shame, looked a cracking prospect.

An odd appointment. I'd be a little concerned if I was a Leeds fan.

Yup, it really is.
I would have thought a team like leeds, would have had a bit more global appeal than Lowes and Mcdermott.
I would imagine the the poop house tactics that Leeds have employed over the last 2-3 years will now go into overdrive with Lowes in the setup.

| Saw Wayne Godwin in Wigan yesterday, rumour has it on the Bulls board he would struggle to get into the first team with them having L'Estrange and Diskin.
Thoughts?

If he's not good enough for Bradford, he's certainly not good enough for the best team in Europe.
