| He's getting better each week and seems to be growing in confidence. He took the ball up a lot more today.
It would be interesting to see how he gets on with a decent run in the side ala Goulding.

Solid in defence (couple of good takes from kicks), broke a tackle, made some yards and scored a hat-trick.
Couldn't really fault him at all today and I hope he continues to improve. With some more work, he could become a useful player for Wigan.
Well played Karl.
(And before anyone whines about me referring to him as "Donkey", that name will stick as far as I'm concerned - Just like Pat got the nickname of "shït-boy" during his first season, and still gets referred to as that in an ironic way)'"
I bet he is a donkey in certain ways..hes a big boy the pryce

Who on earth refers to Pat as "shít-boy" ? Stop trying to justify your idiotic remark with something even more idiotic

Nobody except me and a couple of other friends who go to the match.
That's the point, numb-nuts - It's a private joke and will remain a running joke.
Try looking up the word "irony", it may help.

| You should probably have kept the joke private I feel.
I thought Pryce did well tonight. As others have already noted, I heard a few slagging him off after the match. Some of them were just racist idiots so their opinion can be discounted I guess.
His tries may have been walk-ins but as other have said he came inside and looked for work at times. I thought he made a good contribution on the whole.

I'm beginning to feel the same, TBH. It was just an attempt to head off the various morons who would read my post referring to him as Donkey and assume that I'm some kind of "boo-boy".
Anyway, I'm too tired and can't be ársed justifying myself any longer - If you want to think of me as "a muppet" (which coming from CAM actually brought a laugh to my lips), that's fine. I've been called worse by better.
Back on topic, as you point out, he did OK today, and as I've said previously, he must be doing something right in training for Madge to think that he (finally) warrants a place in the team.
He's just so bloody infuriating. He seems to have the size and the natural ability to be a damned good player, but looks to all intents and purposes like he just can't be bothered most of the time.
His tries weren't the hardest to score by any stretch, but he was at least there and available to score them.
As for the "racist idiots" - Fortunately, neither myself nor my daughter heard anything along those lines. I can't imagine how I'd explain racism to a 6-year old.
It's going to be interesting in a fortnight or so though, to see whether Pryce will be happy to drop back down to the U20's once Amos is back. Let's be honest - He's improved, but he's still not ready to grab the spot of Pat/Amos/Goulding.

as fans we have two options,
1,you can continue to slate a player obviously lacking in convidence(not suprising after all the injuries and grief he gets)and only get 50% out of the guy whilst still paying him the wage or
2,get behind the guy, support him, cheer for him.and maybe just maybe the guy may take to the field without that extra weight on his shoulders and actually show us what he can do.after all he wears the cherry and white and he does so because eminem and shaun wane beleave he is good enough, that alone is good enough for me.imagine a player walking out of the dressing room knowing that everything he can do in the next 80 minutes will make the crowd cheer him, that as got to be worth an extra 50% in performance every time

Lets give him time, another very solid improvment - and it's making me smile to see him hitting the top 3 of so many people's MoM list.
Tbh a lot of people here would have written off Inglis before he ever made it, for much the same reasons (looking like he can't be arsed etc).

| Karl did well again tonight, took his opportunities, looked for work and showed steady improvement through the game. He dealt with the kicks directed at him well too. He seemed to play with more confidence as the game wore on. Hopefully he will keep his place and carry on his improving form and confidence.
A few more performances like tonight and hopefully the boo-boys (and girls) will finally be silenced and start to give him the same support they give to the other players.

I've heard a bit of this myself, I don't even understand it. I've met people who will talk about Offiah and Hanley like heroes, then suddenly bring race into it when Pryce gets mentioned. I think these people (or halfwits as I prefer to refer to them) generally aren't racist, they're just ignorant enough to think it's ok to use racist insults if they don't like someone from another race. Best to stay well clear, they also find it hard to count and tie their own shoes un-aided.

| Surely its no coincidence that Pryce has been picked when we have a run of four away games. The way that Wigan fans booed him in the match v Catalans last year was shameful.
MM has listened to SW & IL when they've told him about it and seems to have left Pryce's selection until now.
Pryce had an ok game at Edinburgh and was solid v Widnes. No mistakes, looked to help the forwards out, then just the "small" matter of scoring three trys!
With Amos probably still out next week then MM may well go with Pat at FB again and Pryce at 5. No reason to change it.
MM drops players no problem if they don't play to his standards and requirements. Pryce is only in the team because MM thinks he should be there.
He deserves to keep his place. What will happen when Amos returns we shall see but injuries could occur.
As had been said on here, KP just needs a run of games to keep up his improvement. MM could well provide him with those opportunities.

| I didnt go to the game yesterday and I'm not trying to pick fault at his performance because I am thrilled he scored a hat-trick, but I noticed Matt Gardner scored both their tries and were these tries conceded down Pryce's side?

No, both tries were scored on Goulding's wing. They were both scored after successive penalties close to our line as well. It would be churlish to try to blame any individuals for two consolation tries conceded during repeat sets.
