This year I predicted we could win the lot 2 out of 3 aint bad as the Legend sang.
Next year I think we could win the lot (I am a optimist) if not then we wont simple as that,If I believe in my team that I have supported over 50 yrs through the good times and bad that they are good and could win the lot then so be it I bloody well will.
Obviously it isnt directed at you Phuzzy just sometimes fans look for different ways to drag a team down and moan about something that may or not may happen. In my view we have a great team,we have a fantastic club,we have the best set up of any team/club in RL.I am so proud to support my home town club.
OK rant over.'"
I wasn't having a pop Jason. I stand firmly in the same camp as your good self. I always get concerned when people start talking about clean sweeps and going the season unbeaten and all that though. Call me superstitious but it always seems to jinx things
I also said we'd win it last year and I think we will again.

| Quote: WWste "This might just be the best Wigan squad on paper ive seen since I started watching. Which was the early 2000. I know we haven’t kicked off yet but the buzz about this squad including the young lads is great. Even though we won last year I was more excited for the coming season before this last season ended'"
The other one the comes to mind is 2011 and that shows that a squad on paper doesn't necessarily translate,
Gleeson left as the season started, Fielden basically never played, Madges announcement that he was leaving disrupted things.
They did win the cup, which seemed like the priority at the time. But a squad that looked like it could/should have won the lot crashed out of the playoffs with two losses to a saints team on the decline.
The level of competition then was a lot higher and I'm still excited about this team, it's just going back to back or winning doubles and trebles is pretty rare.

I noticed that, looks like he’s lost some timber, the competition for places will hopefully spur everyone on to up their standards.

Im from Swinley so just a stones throw from the old Central Park, used to climb over the turnstiles for every game and sometimes watch the players train on the training pitch at the side of the ground, the good old days

My dad was in a wheel chair so when we went to Central Park they used to open the big gate to let us in for free never seen so many people push a wheel chair

I have been to games with my grandad and we were allowed seats (bench) on the pitch side of ground.

Can only assume my parents knew those on the turnstiles or those working on the turnstiles were not bothered if we paid or not, used to just climb over the turnstile when we got there, did that for probably 10 years or so.
We used to always stand behind the sticks, there was a lot of us (my family) and it seemed to be as if everyone around us knew we always stood there as there was always a space there when we got to the ground and we literally used to leave the house at 5 to 3 for a 3 o'clock kick off.
The younger ones of used used to sit on the wall at the front of the stand with our legs dangling over to the pitch side, nobody ever bothered for years then they started to come round and got you to put your legs on the inside but it was awkward sitting like that so stood up in the end.
Also remember we used to run onto the pitch at the end of the game and ask the players for their 'tie ups', they used to use string to keep their socks up, collected all the greats over the years, but sadly not got any anymore as they were just bits of string, oh the memories of the early days.
