God only knows what they were playing at with 5 minutes to go to give Riley the intercept when 2 scores ahead. They just needed to get the forwards to play out the tackles and put a little kick in to run down the clock.'"
I also thought they had a couple of chances to put it away earlier on in the second half, which they fluffed. Had quite a few sets near the line, which they totally failed to capitalise on. Good defence in the dying minutes though.

Madness! The sign of a team that isn't used to those big, high pressure games.
Imagine Leeds in that situation! Sinfield dribbling it in to touch, taking his gum shield out with a face like a slapped ar*e looking as excited as when you get told you've got to have a tooth out.

| You guys are right, we had chances today really.
With Hull having come in to the game in dire form and this being their big chance of making a major final, we needed to get clear of them early on to demoralise them. If they were in the hunt in the second half they were always going to be dangerous given they would put everything in to get to Wembley.
The flip side of that is they would also be likely to be jittery as they don't have a Sinfield who would have controlled the game. They were nervous and left the gate open, we had chances and bombed them.
Ah well got to rally now, with Wigan having one eye on the cup we've got to try and take top spot in the table now. Will be hard but that should be the target, to put us in a good position for the playoffs.
Looking forward to the final anyway, I'll be supporting Hull as it would be nice to see them get a trophy but I reckon Wigan will do it and fair play to you if you do.

I said after our recent game that a couple of Wires old heads looked a little jaded and I thought guys like Briers, Morley, M Monaghan and Hodgson looked that again today.
They've got cash and a good junior set up to fall back on and they'll certainly need both going forward.

As a Leeds fan I will take that as a complement , it was just one game in a long season but age seems to be catching up with some of the wires senior players. Briars was off the pace and Morley is a shadow of the player he was.
Wembly is probably the pinnacle of the season for hull, so in the business end of the season it looks like Wigan are the form team.

After the 2010 and 2012 Challenge Cup finals the post mortem has been 'age seems to be catching up with Leeds' so I wouldn't write us off yet.

I shall have to disagree with you on those games, we did not play very well and on both occasions the winners played better than us.
Now we are coming to the business end of the season all will be revealed. I still think Wigan are the form team, can't quite see the giants at old trafford . Although the form book says they should make it.
All in all I think some of the play off sudden death games look intriguing . Tony Smith is more than capable of getting the wire up for one game, more than that looks like a huge task.

ironic that wigan and fc play the following Friday against each other too after the cup final, whoever wins the cup will probably lose the league match! we'll(fc) take the cup!!

| Have a look on their board now and see that they didn’t really want it anyway, and the hubcap is the sign of the real champions and Hull and Wire had a great love-in after the game in the true spirit of the game. Unlike us men, we are all thugs and big heads who support nowt but a one man average team who bought and cheated their way through the whole history of RL…. So no change there then!

They're only being nice to Hull because they want them to beat us. More faces than Big Ben that lot!

If i remember correctly we had the same scenario in 1998.
London in the semi then played Sheffield the week after the final, and battered them.
However i have a good feeling about this one and feel we can go on to win both games this time.

| Still fancy Leeds for the GF. They've won 5 of past 6 playoff series. Forget the league, they are the best playoff series team and should be the fave's. As things stand in should be playoff semi's of Wigan v Wire and Hudds v Leeds.
