I've watched Walker and Watkins since both made their debut at Leeds and they are completely different players, how they could be compared is beyond me.

I would say Atkins defence is better than Watkins, Ablett may not score loads but he nearly always scores when it matters in the big games.

I'm not sure really. Watkins tackling and positioning is as good as Atkins, if not better, Atkins defence is poor for an experienced centre IMO. Its his decsion making that lets him down at times. But at only 21 playing in a position more often than not that has a higher workload than any other position in the backs is no real surprise.

He's the best right centre we've got available. He's a natural centre with the pace, feet and hands to be the best centre this country has produced in a long time.

You base your opinion on views through cherry & white glasses or stats? If it's the latter there is very little to back up your argument.

Just dont think he's as good as everyone is making out. When you look at the GB/England Centres that were around in RL pomp then marking Watkins and Atkins as the best in the business is somewhat depressing.

Like Who? I'd say Watkins has as much potential as any centre we've produced since Schofield. Whether he reaches that potential I don't know but he's without a doubt a top prospect.

Exactly my question too. We don't have the best history when it comes to centres imo, Watkins could be one of the best for quite some time.

I think Watkins could be better than both.

Watkins is great with ball in hand, when his opposite number has the ball in hand he is a defensive nightmare.
With Slater going to get the full back job for the Roos in the World Cup Inglis will probably play at 4.

As opposed to the smaller slower Darrell Goulding coming up against him? The fact is whom ever comes up against Inglis, Folau, or Jennings is going to have their work cut out for them, it will be up to the England defenders as a unit to stop him getting any good ball.

If Rugby League was about pure athleticism, Dwayne Chambers would have been a GB Winger.
