| No wonder we can't beat Australia. There's too many playin' over here. Overseas signings mark failure in the youth set up in my opinion. I'd love to see an all British Wigan 13 again like the one that beat Manly. Ideally I'd love to see an all Wiganer Wigan 13 (we can but dream).

Foran looks quality as well, looking forward to the game I think the Warriors will give Manly more of a game than Melbourne would have done. I would love to see the aussie press in meltdown if the Warriors win it

There's no doubting his playing ability.
The sad thing is I don't think you can his drinking antics away.

| As long as he brings a top centre back it will have been a worthwhile trip.

| Wiggy hemmings mentioned, that IL will discuss 2012 business once all the business of 2011 is completed so read into that what you will
Lets start big rumours then, Benji Marshall and Greg Inglis will both sign 5 year deals for Wigan, and will be paid in Rupees and subsidised by Simon Moran

His point is pretty silly, it's like saying he would rather have Joe Mellor than Benji Marshall.

The aussies can teach the youngsters in our youth setup how to do things. I guarantee Sam Tomkins wouldn't be as far along in his development if he hadnt have had Trent Barrett to learn from in training and look at how important the aussies can be. They give you something fresh in your team. Look at how Finch is now hes had time to gel with the team. Hes throwing passes that the opposition never see coming and those lead to tries. I think its a ridiculous statement that the English game would be any better without Aussies and Kiwis.

Exactly, until the talent pool over here is increased greatly then we are going to need to supplement our league with imports.

Why not concerntrate on improving our coaches?
Its no coincidence that the top coaches in SL and the NRL have the ability to turn poor players into good players and good players into world class players.
We really need to do something about the standard of english coaches before we even think about players - only then will we improve on the domestic and internation scene.
Would any NRL side touch any of the current english SL coaches?

Fair point, but you can say that about all aspects of the game really. Rugby league is massive in parts of Aus, therefore more people are watching the game, playing the game, coaching the game, refereeing the game etc. This isn't the case in England.

| Before the Melbourne salary cap incident there was talk about us doing a deal with Melbourne. Supposdly that fell through (but we still got 3 Storm players). Perhaps that is what IL is looking to cement, happy to swap Slater for Sam, Mickey Mac for Smith for a year.

Very true - its a huge advantage and so is the weather!
However i feel quite strongly that there just isnt enough being done for young british coaches in the game - look at the difference in terms of mentoring between people like Tony Smith, Mike Maguire and then Steve Mcnamara, Brian Mcdermott - its a huge difference.
Iv been lucky enough to attend the coaching sessions that Madge held at Orrell last year and cant help but think that it should be people like Mcnamara attending them not just amateur coaches from Wigan - to listen to him speak about his methods and what he had to do to change Wigan was facinating and also if im honest quite shocking too!
