He is only meant to have started contact training on Wednesday (Mossop that is) so he's a risk without question.
He's a superb player though and i'd rather have him in the team then Cross so he'd be the first one i'd go with. It's just nice to have Cross back as an option with Hock and Fielden being out of the picture.

I know mate but come on the lad would have been chomping at the bit for the last fortnight, especially this time of the year. These guys put their bodies on the line every week and dont wanna miss out on the play offs.

Of course.
I'm sure Mossop wants to play and he should but Cross may just be a risk too many. He's obviously one tough son of a bi*ch because I can't see how he can be fully healed in 4 weeks. I get the feeling he's going to play through the pain with a protective pad on which is nuts but fair play to the guy.
Fully fit though he still wouldn't make my 17 so I wouldn't pick him when he's got question marks over him. He was brought in as back up and if Mossop is ready thats all he should remain imo.
Anyroad it's up to Maguire and he'll make the right call.

27588.gif "Games as big as a grand finals define individuals and clubs. Remember we are only renting these shirts, I had my time in Pat Richards shirt. Ellery and Faz had there time in Sean's, Hampo and Radders in Sam's. You have to make a mark in these shirts that's still there the day you hand it over to someone else. So be aware for 80 minutes you are not only playing but also writing history and creating a legacy. How many people get to actually write history, not many. A big stage demands big players, be inspired. You play for Wigan, now go do it. Good luck." - Martin Offiah, 2010.:27588.gif |

That would just be you.
We've scored tries from his kicks, he's kicked a couple of 40/20s this season, he's dropped a goal, he gives us distance with penalty kicks and he's kicked some great splitters. He's inconsistent but that's to be expected in a rookie. He scored a try off his own grubber last week.

He's got a super kicking game and I really like him.
In the game we dominated at Widnes I thought he looked a real talent yet got no praise whilst the ineffective Lomax who only came alive when the game was gone in the last 15 minutes took the plaudits.
I'm not saying he's as good as Lomax as an allround player but he looks a more natural halfback to me and looks to take control of a game.

Tell me about it. Explosive running styles are very attractive to watch. But Gaskell is a real prospect his attributes are ignored by most in favour of runners who have an attractive few runs in a game. Lomax is good to don't get me wrong. But Gaskell is no slouch either and brings other dimensions that the likes of Lomax eastmond and pryce dont have.

| This is a big big judgement call from Madge. Cross and Mossop have both had injuries that could be so easy to re-occur. Once youve popped your shoulder and can become a regular thing and Cross's arm has barely had time to heal. Just how strong is the bone. If he gets this call wrong and we lose them in the course of the game I dont think we will be able to match them in the forwards particularly with the impact off the bench with the likes of TP. I think the game could really depend on whether madge calls this one right !!!

There seems to be a call to mix up styles with passing/kicking halfs married to an explosive runner. Gaskell has been the one to impress me this year he seems to have the more all round game.

Apparently Wheeler is suffering from a dislocated bank balance, he won't play again until he goes to Barth or Sacrements (otherwise know as Farrells Follies) next season. His next injury will put him into the Guinness book of records.

20333_1393344959.gif Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

How come he gets injured so much?
Is it because he has biscuit bones or does he not take his recovery seriously?

If I knew that I would be replacing Sitcom (or whatever his name is) under Wane at the Piedrom

| Any merit in using this match as a "rest-day" and fielding most of the kids?
Just asking.
