ill admit as a wire fan oloughin has been brilliant for you al season and last night he wasnt a terrible player he just didnt stand up and make himself noticed like you need from your big players but oh well 23-16

| Wire were not offside all game. Certainly no more than us. The Anderson one was a shocking call though. Usain Bolt wouldn't have got there that quick. They were far better than us btw.

| Wire were the better teams, but we could have done better if the 50-50's go our way. They certainly haven't in the last 3 big games. Perhaps it will turn for the playoffs?

1883.jpg Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

| Quote: Jeff the God of Biscuits "Warrington WERE better than us. We lacked discipline, composure and killer instinct. We had a good first 20 minutes when Wire looked jittery and couldn't complete their sets. We should have put them to bed then, we didn't, allowed them back in the game and we couldn't match them after that. The ref was poor, granted, but he was poor for both sides as he gave some dubious decisions to Wire also. We lost, face it. Move on. Still 5 more games to go for us to secure top spot, but it really doesn't look good for the playoffs.'"
Absolutely. Wigan should have been three scores to the good after 25 minutes.

| I have been watching Wigan through good times and bad for 50 years and I have made certain observations about referees that has remained constant in that time - they make mistakes, they generally do not favour one team over another and if your team is playing the better rugby you seem to get the rub of the green off them. This was evident on Friday night and the only people to blame for our loss were the Wigan players. But as I said on another thread it's not the end of the world. I was at all the games that saw Wigan relegated to the second division in the early 80's - that was the end of the world!

Sorry to be pedantic but it wasn't, It was Very Nearly!
I Still believe without what happened in 78/79/80 the Phoenix that arose from those flames wouldn't have been as Great!
It kind of instilled a Ruthlessness within the club that Mo drove and would not let anyone accept 2nd best and although it took time and a touch of patience (Because we didn't go from 2nd div to Best team in the World overnight or by buying X player to replace X player and getting straight were we wanted to be, We actually went X,Y,Z!) the set backs along the way Galvanised the Club.
FWIW I too believe that the better rugby you play the more rub of the green you get.
I actually like Gary Players analogy when after being told How he was a "Lucky" sod after holing another 30ft put he said "It's Strange, The Harder I work - The Luckier I get!".
I'm sure Madge will be telling them Many Things in Training Monday and for me 1 of them would be this.
Look at that Table, Your Top, 2 points clear, Best attack, Best Defence. Your Not there by chance, Your there because you deserve it!
The Table doesn't lie, let's get back to doing what we've done all season but lets work even Harder and Finish the Job we all started.

Given the amount of time that Anderson had Bolt would have been a further 15 yards down the pitch. Anderson started behind the line, took of as soon as the ball was played. He made the tackle because the pass from the dummy half was sooooo slow. Speed out of the line is something Wolves have worked on a lot. Think about it, 10 metres in 2 seconds translates to 100 metres in 20. there are plenty of SL players capable of that.

I know & Remember EXACTLY what you meant!
Thing is, and that's what your original post summed up very nicely, is that the most dominant teams tend to pick up the bounce of the ball & The 50/50 decisions.
It was no coincidence that as soon as our only Recognisable Front Row Went off i.e Fielden/piggy/Prekky we lost our way and the dominance of the Wire forwards, until Piggy came back on, seemed to coincide with a few bounces of the ball & 50/50's going their way.
I tend not to be one of those who goes from extreme highs to extreme lows when it comes to expressing opinions about players/teams.
I said a couple of months ago that going into the Play offs with every team having everyone fit Saints/Leeds would just have the edge with Wire & Wigan just behind.
Thing is, Not everyone will have all their players fully fit and a Full SL Season means that some clubs will go into the Play offs with the advantage of Home games & an easier passage if they win them to the GF.
We DESERVE to be were we are, We mustn't forget that!
And what happened on Friday doesn't alter my thinking with regards to the respective Merits of both teams and their chances going into the Play offs.
We all know that their Front Row has better strength/strength in depth but I would say I would Match/back us in most other areas.
BUT - If you don't win the Up front war you don't win the rest!
We have Coley/MMac (Who was Big loss IMO)/O'C/Bailey/ and possibly a Feka dependant on the Madge situation to come back in over the Pack we had Friday.
I think this will be enough to see us through to the end of the season in 1st place and if we can keep these Fit going into the Play-off's we'll have hell of a chance!
But, if we don't finish top it doesn't make us a Bad team which some of the posters on this Board all of a sudden think we are (And all of a sudden some of the players are Bad Players) 1 week after the same Posters said we were the Best team (And Best Players) in the league.
Bouncebackability has been fantastic this season, let's see if we can do it again!

| Can i just say that fridays' game aside, in terms of on the pitch in general, we are both 2 very even sides and if we played another 20 games in a row, i honestly think all the games would come down to either one piece of exceptional skill or piece of extraordinary luck. Neither team in either of the games this season has looked like they could run away with either game.

| If you watch the game back and pause the action at the play the ball, you will all see that Anderson is onside... He just pinpointed the right man and ran as fast as he could at him. Great read from louis.

| I wonder if Warrington'd vidoe work has identified a slowness in Hansen when he gets into first receiver close to the line.
He's been snotted in that position twice by Warrington this season.
