This is just a superleague match really but with England full of players from different teams who are playing like players from different teams. Whereas Catalans are playing like Catalans were playing towards the end of last season - well.

deja vu really of the PNG match last year - should have trounced them but basically just didnt. I fear a record score against Aus next week if we dont get our act together.

The france team were a good team. We were all over the place in defence, I really wonder what Tony Smith has been doing with the team, how have we gone backwards in one whole year?

McGuire, Moore and Westwood out for me next week with Sam,Crabtree and Carvell coming in.

We have to play the biggest pack possible because our backs are terrible.

To me France were ten times worse than PNG were last year. PNG gave their all, France were dire second half and let England off the hook more than England getting themselves off the hook.

if France had a "bench" they would have won. Their forwards dominated but eventually ran out of steam.

His inclusion due to him being able to lead a side around the field was far from justified but he saved his skin with a good try just after the break to change the course of the game.

Myler isn't an organiser, he's an individual player that makes breaks and scores trys just like Sam Tomkins but Smith felt the need to justify his selection by making out he can lead a side around the field.

He should keep his place next week imo but possibly alongside Tomkins because McGuire was woeful.

But seriously. I don't think anybody is giving the French enough credit. OK they fell away in the 2nd half but their invention, speed and forward play in the 1st half was excellent. More strength from the bench (and lots more composure) would make them a decent outfit. I hope they can keep playing with the pride that they obviously have, when they face the Kiwis and Australia.
