Have you only just realised this
But no seriously you are spot on last son of wigan. King, Morley, Mongahan and now Myler have all been stated in the press to be on massive money when they sign and its not a well kept secret that Briers is on a huge salary. The Andersons also no doubt will be getting paid alot.

Do transfer fees count under the salary cap?

No but seeing as most super league clubs struggle to make a profit, that is alot of money to spend. He was offered massive money at Salford to become the highest paid player in their history so no doubt he will be on loads at wire.

transfer fee not wages.
It still does seem way over the odds to pay that for a player with only 1 year left on his deal and who has already made it clear he does not want to be at the club beyond 2010.

True, but that 300k may include both a transfer fee and 2 year's wages or something. We could do with more info!

I obviously know nothing about the inner working of what's going on with Salford, Warrington and Myler - but I could imagine he'd take less money to play in a "bigger" team, with better chances of challenging for silverware and so forth.

No chance, players are motivated by money, it's their job. If you were offered a job at Tesco for £5 an hour and double that at ASDA, which one would you take?

Sorry it did look like I was refering the 300k to cap and not a tranfer fee.
Regardless my point was that there are a lot of big name players at Wire to be all managed under the cap. Adding Myler to the mix surely would put more strain on what already looks a stretched cap.

| If its just a transfer fee, 12 months before they can get him for nothing, they are mad. If its part transfer , part wages then maybe, but its still a huge gamble.

| I really think that you lot are over hyping Tomkins. He is far from the great player that you are making out. He does have potential but is far from the finished article as is Eastmond. Both their displays hardly set the world alight at the weekend did they.
Tomkins for me also has a suspect attitude in respect that he can easily be got at.
Apart from the forward pass that he collected at the weekend he hardly struck fear in to the opposition..
Myler is probably on a par with both of them and has played in a poor Salford team all year.

There have been alot of games this year other fans will not of seen where he has been superb, you watch him collect the young player of the year award even if he does not play the next few games. He has more of an all round game than Myler and Eastmond. All the best players have an attitude. Good players are always hated by other fans like Long or Wellens (a former good player) from saints

Ah! I get it now! Tony Smith wasn't the coach of the England squad it was an imposter. That's why England were so firkin awful!
That's also why Richard Lewis said after the NZ defeat in the semi that Tony Smith was an outstanding coach. Lewis new it was an imposter too!
There's me thinking all the time that it was the real Tony Smith coaching England in the World Cup.
Next time we go down under in 2010 just make sure the real Tony Smith coaches the team. That'll show them Aussies and Kiwis, we'll thrash them all if the real Tony Smith is there!'"
Tony Smith wasn't the Wire coach then you plonker.

I'm not sure that's altogether comparable, to be honest. For one thing, I'm not sure Wire are offering to double whatever Salford have offered, and the lure of potential success has to be worth something.
