Fully understand and agree that you shouldn't give more details however, (there is always an however ) I am really struggling to understand why any businessman in any industry wouldn't insist on a signed contract. If SE has used us to catch a bigger fish then we have as much skin in the game as SE because a signed contract is a pretty fundamental requirement. If we have been shat on we have allowed SE to shoite on us unless of course a contract was actually signed and SE has used some form of legal loophole to void the contract.

I'm sure that the facts will come out but still think that we look a "bit soft" as a club and at the moment personally I am more concerned about the here on now rather than the 19/20 season. Hopefully your source may have also advised on some new blood in the playing arena as at the moment we look and play like a team is very capable of being relegated.

My sources which told me way back when that Edwards would not come alleged that it was all a big show (similar to Wendell Sailor) and that the hope was that Lam did so well that they would keep him on full time and nobody would care about Edwards not coming because the team was playing so well under Lam. Im not saying this is true, just what i was told by the person who first told me that Edwards would not come

If Edwards gets an England job, I think we'll all know who was putting on the show and why.

However, that won't mean the club haven't made errors.

If the club are clean in all of this then when Edwards first went to the media in January and floated the idea that he may not come if Lam does well, why did Mr Lenegan come out a few days later and repeat the same thing and also say that there may be a situation in that Edwards will not come? Surely if the club really thought the Edwards deal was nailed on they would of come out and completely quashed any idea that Edwards may not come? This to me tells me that it is impossible that Edwards signed a contract and he must be telling the truth about that part at the very least.

This is going to be the top and bottom of it all. If he has and he’s not going to honour it then the club has done nothing wrong and may get a pay out from his new employer. If he didn’t then they have lied pure and simple, regardless of the fact that Edwards may not be honouring a gentleman’s agreement.

I'm, sure you're being honest about that, but don't be surprised if people don't take it at face value ... much the way you aren't taking what the other chap had to say at face value.

It's also possible that your source is being less than honest with you, especially if, as I suspect, he's in the Edwards camp.

if we're in the blame game (and it looks like we are ), then I still can't see any scenario in which both parties aren't to blame to some extent.

It seems virtually certain now that there is no written contract. Otherwise surely IL would have produced it yesterday. However you slice it, that doesn't look good from the club's POV. Even if Edwards had said, let's not worry about a contract now, we'll sort it later, then the club look at best naive.
