Probably my highlight of the year tbh. The lad is a total and utter plank but in fairness to him it’s good to have some characters about.
What a moment though! A prop forward doing a jumping pirouette and finishing it off with a dab only for it to be ruled out.

I was very impressed with Hamlin, you have a good un there.

| Why did Gildart try to catch the ball? All he needed to do was let Makinson catch it and push him over the sideline.

It’s an easy game to play from the sideline isn’t it? In his post match interview Gildart said his intention was to knock it out of play which was probably the right thing to do. He was out jumped by Makinson who let’s face it, is very good in the air. It was great skill and sometimes you just have to tip your hat to it and say fair enough, well done!
Not seen any mention of the fact that we are now semi finalists as we are 11 points clear of 5th with 4 games to play. Simple really, win at least the last 2 games and we’re champions again!

Is it just me or was the "finding your front asap" tactic binned last night in favour of trampling the opposition into the ground ?'"
I think they ditched that tactic a few games ago. We’ve seemed to trample defenders for fun recently.
At one point on Friday Navarrete (who I am really starting to rate) made an extra 15 meters in contact. Best thing was he could only get one leg free, so essentially he hopped on one leg and still main the gains.
Was brilliant.

| The props certainly "stole" a few yards on and after contact and at the play of the ball, it was very crafty

| I agree with the point about binning the tactic of finding the floor quickly. Seems stupid to me as the ref allows the tacklers to lie on for ages as it is a dominant tackle. It was great seeing the Wigan players fighting to make yardage.
It was disappointing a few weeks ago to see Joel Tomkins antics in the pub but things have worked out well in the long run...we now have an outstanding back row forward (even though Wane qualifies his praise for Greenwood.

We were back to our physical imposing best, mixed in with some fluid attack.
The players seem to have sorted there heads out and our ready for the charge to Old Trafford.
The passion on show from the players when Gildart scored was something else.'"
We have a winner!

| Great win. Hard not to be pleased with the level of performance and effort.
But... we must bring in a 7 before next season. We look a lot better with Tommy there but he's not the answer. Caught in possession way too many times. Poor kicking game and at times decision making. (I think at one point late in the game he put a speculative kick in for a winger on the second tackle only to lose position).
Away from the rugby I particularly enjoyed Bateman's singalong. He might be going, but I do believe he loves our club.

I don't disagree in general, but I honestly thought Tommy did quite well against Saints.
Thought we were fluid & excellent at getting the ball out to both edges, and Tommy's passing was good and better than it has been since he's come back.

I agree it has. Team looks overall stronger with him at 7. But I think signing a 7 could take us even further. Maybe Lachlan Lam. However, talks about him coming to Wigan seem to have died down.
