| Thanks for the response Matty as a supporter of a much younger club than mine I think your response was very apt.

| Would have had a bigger attendance if the game was on Sunday, i doubt Leigh will bring as many as foretold .

At £10 a head, there may have been a 10,000+ crowd on Friday.'"
No, the prices are too high for [isome[/i people.

A sunday game may have encouraged more away fans, as you normally play on sundays, but the majority of the crowd will be home fans and as Leyther Matt and I both pointed out on your board last week Wigan fans don't like sunday games. They are poorly attended compared to friday games and the atmosphere is greatly diminished. Our support like and attend friday night games, we play on fridays as a fan poll chose that day and we are accustomed to playing (and attending) on friday night. A sunday game would have drawn a smaller and less enthusiastic crowd.

Seeing that up until last year when tickets at this stage were free (£0) to all ST holders, who make up the majority of the fanbase and most of them couldn't be bothered to turn up when they didn't have to pay anything, I fail to see your logic in thinking that if they had to pay slightly less for this week's game that it would attract the sort of crowd we don't normally see until the semi finals.
Some people will find any excuse not to attend even one that does not make sense. If some fans want to say that they don't want to watch what will (likely) be a one sided game then fair enough. The price argument though is a total nonsense.

To be fair I will attend regardless of price but I always bring a few mates when I can get them in cheaper via a scrum ticket, cup games, offers etc so I do see the logic

| Quote Orrell Lad="Orrell Lad"This debate comes up every year
No contrived priority ticketing schemes are likely to increase attendances. ATEOTD, those who can afford to attend will and those who can't wont, simple as that. I actually think RL fans are very lucky that we have relatively cheap ticket prices compared to a lot of other sports.'"
i disagree in part.......using ticket stubs as vouchers to give priority for later round tickets might be an incentive for more people to turn up.
As a non ST holder i have this moan annualy...i attend all cup games home and away then struggle to get tickets for finals and semis cos the stay at home ST holders feel they should have priority for them, which dumps the likes of me at the back of the queue with the once a year supporters

Not this again!
Which cup game in the last 3 years did you struggle to get a ticket for considering none of them were sold out?
Without going into it AGAIN there are more problems with a system like this than there are positives.
As for the once a year season ticket holders, I'm not sure how attending 13 matches and contributing to your club in doing so is any worse than attending 3 potential cup games?

So you think more people would go to tonight's game if it gave them a higher priority of getting a ticket for a semi-final / final?
Sorry, but I think you've invented a problem that doesn't exist.

Just out of curiosity, have you ever failed to get a ticket for a semi-final or a final?
