Eric is mine. He's not done anything wrong yet but when he does, be it this season or next, I'll be waiting to say "I told you so".

you must have forgotten about the 2 penalties he gave away that Hodgson kicked when Dire Wilfs were 20-18 behind.
At least he has learned his lessons from that brain fart

He was seen wearing his baseball cap the wrong way at the Saints game - that's wrong.

Finch was my scapegoat at that point but that tree bore no fruit so I only switched to Eric a couple of games later. I'll stick with Eric now though and hopefully he'll lose us a couple of important games.

He also had his shirt untucked at the LLS presentation. He's rubbish at fashion.

Poor effort mate. Never change your scapegoat no matter what. I'm still hanging on to the hope of Brett Dallas returning one day and dropping a clanger.

| All joking aside, it's a sign of the declining standards of Super League when Goulding becomes the top centre at the top club in the league. He's a solid player with a great attitude, but we are hardly bridging the gap with the NRL centres, if anything it's getting wider.
Considering the top teams in the past have had Connolly, Newlove, Senior, Iro, Hape, Renouf, Lyon, Gleeson, Gidley etc there aren't many 'entrance fee alone' type strike centres over here these days. Lets hope we can develop a few.

I'm good at being outraged at the scapegoaters but I have to admit that at the time I did express some views about Gene being crocked and past it which proved not to be entirely accurate. Ahem.
That was when I learned my lesson. In my defence it isn't often that a player who can barely run for the first half of the season transforms into one of the greatest centres in the club's history and forges with Offiah the best centre/wing partnership the British game has ever seen, certainly in the modern era. But it is still embarrassing.

| Quote: Last Son of Wigan "Goulding as top centre my god. Yes he can tackle and get the ball to his winger but thats about it. He has no strike. And also bad positional play in defence. If Cats would have been a bit smarter they should have attacked more down his side, when they did they found space and scored a try from it. '"
Not to make you think I'm getting at you, because I'm just making a general point, but watching the highlights it's pretty obvious that he wasn't even solely culpable for the try that was scored. The entire middle defence plus Leuluai made mistakes before Goulding added to the them.
From what I've seen of Goulding he's made countless excellent defensive reads. His defence this season has been mostly very solid, especially when compared to most centres in Super League.
Meanwhile he showed that even when he doesn't get much of the ball he can still provide an attacking threat, scoring a try after running a good line and having a hand in another by slipping an offload while being tackled.
Goulding has his weaknesses and limitations like any player but this year he's been a very important player and has helped provide a much more solid right side defence that previously was a huge weakness.

Gouldings defence has been a plus he more often than not makes the right call and snuffs out the threat and some big hits as well
