Garth Brennan would be my choice.

He's coached every ounce of skill out of that side, since Deacs and Harris have left we've gone backwards at an alarming rate. The potential our side could have is quite scary and a decent attacking coach would have a field day with it, S Tomkins, Charnley, Manfredi, Wiliams, Bateman, Farrell, Lockers etc and all that we can produce is the same grubber kick into a corner week in week out. We are a horrible side to watch and at present do not deserve to be 3rd!

Wane's passion is there for all to clearly see but it's not enough IMO, same excuses every week and his determination to have a full 13 of Wigan lads is becoming increasingly cringeworthy.

If we don't get rid then we need to find a quality attacking coach to join our ranks as ASAP.

And why would all these posters be privi to know who's available and who's not, as I presume most are not in the rugby agent sector to know who's to sign and who's not to sign.

Dont claim to be an expert on the guy but I would go for him because of the rave reviews he's received from prominent figures in the game, his success in the NRL feeder comp and the fact that he is at the stage of his career where he could be a realistic target for us. Yet you mention six of them in your post!
And just out of curiosity how many times have those seven taken the field together this season.

Personally I think a coach only has a "shelf life" of five or six seasons unless the playing staff changes by large amounts over that time.

Although if the club are looking long term they may be put off as he'd no doubt bugger off back to Aus after a couple years. Powell is a good shout he's been great at Cas and they play the best rugby in SL by a mile. What makes you think he wouldn't join a club like Wigan? I think he'd jump at the chance.

Can't disagree with this at all. I hoped we'd have a replacement for Deacs soon after he left, but it quickly became obvious we were doing stuff on the cheap. One question (rhetorical) is though: who's got the whip hand? Is it IL refusing to splash the cash, or is it Rads and/or Wane persuading him that we can cope. Is there anyone with a rugby brain actually looking at the bigger picture?

I suspect it'll be Wire & Hull in the final (we'll never hear the last of it if the Stainers get there & do one, having written them off several times over the year) and then perhaps we can have an announcement.

The point I was making, is that the "replacement" has to be someone is that is available, wants to come to Wigan, and has a credible CV. Not sure why some people assume Australian coaches will drop everything and come to Wigan. Theres loads to take into account, they mave have a young settled family in OZ etc etc.
