Sam Tomkins for starters. Shaun Edwards filled the Full Back role for Wigan before becoming a truly great Half Back for Wigan and GB and there's no reason as to why Tomkins couldnt do that. Rangi Chase is overrated and would a complete waste of money for Wigan to outlay. Also thought you where after Lee Gaskell from St Helens???

| I like the look of the lad Russell at fullback, could move Tomkins into the halves to accomodate this. I know Tomkins is devastating joining the line of your lot but I think he could evolve into a Benji Marshall type player. Whatever happens, we need to appreciate Sam Tomkins whilst he's here, it won't be long before RU or NRL comes calling and only then will we realise what a pleasure it as to have him play in our league. A bit like Ronaldo when he was at United, people appreciate him more now he's gone. Tomkins should be England captain for me.

| Disciplinary reasons apparently.
Possibly the reason Wigan aren't interested as we have a club that seems ultra disciplined at the moment.

| Rumour is he was out on the lash Friday, 2 days before a game, so dropped. Not smart from Rangi.

Can't say I'm surprised to hear that. Yet another reason he shouldn't be a part of our team.

Well they're right. It has to be an essential part of Wigan's policy to mess things up at Castleford. Without that, there's no guarantee we'd win anything. It's worth spending a lot of time developing such a ploy.

the plan is credible
except the part where we leaked our interest to the press.
Rangi got sniff of what had been said on here and jumped at the chance

| i've not read all 20 odd pages
my take on this is that it is all a load of tosh
Chase wouldnt fit into our current structure and would disrupt the way that we play as he is too much of an individual
Would he be another danny orr, good player in a poor team, but would get found out elsewhere and hopefully not Wigan

| There is probably nothing wrong with the theory that Rangi is causing disruption as his price tag was too high for Wigan to buy him.
The question would have to be posed though, with Rangi pulling these tactics off to try and get to Wigan, is that the kinda player they would want, who would used such tactics against his current side.
I'm not blaming Wigan, lots of clubs no doubt approach players to see if they would be interested, then go to their club and find the price tag is too high. But not all players then do the dirty to get out of their current club. Chase is a good player, but if he is playing these tricks, whose to say he would not do similar at Wigan, if say his NRL stock went up and they came in with a bigger offer than Wigan?

If he has done this to try and engineer a move to Wigan then that it quite amusing as all it will do/have done is put SW/IL off

I was thinking that too, and if he's not done it to engineer a move then it will still put off any prospective club. In a winning set up, you surely would not invite a disruptive force.

| Rangi's LT deal with Cas is about the only asset they have, and they wont relinquish that lightly.
To have a rep as a trouble maker isnt helping his cause if he wants a release.
The guy is a mug, either for his alleged behaviour, or signing such a long contract, (he was happy with the deal at the time ) and to want out five minutes later is shocking and shows what a snake the guy is.
Rangi, you've made your bed.....
We should run a million miles from this one

| I heard today that chase was involved in a fight on Friday night and was not picked yesterday because of it. Anybody heard similar?
