He's definitely enjoying being over here without his other half

It's not one poor performance though. In tough games Saints score 2 tries and that's been the same over a number of years. Defence unbelievable but if u score 3 times against Saints u will win more often than not

I try not to reply to you but on this occasion I'll give you a bite.
I'm far from a cheerleader, when we play well I say so and when we don't I do the same. Saturday's second half was appalling, too many errors, no discipline and a complete reversal from the first half when we looked comfortable despite not scoring. I thought they would've tired second half and we would've gone on to win. It's definitely our bogey ground with no win there since 2018 (obv 2020 and 2021 were Covid years)
Giving Lomax a long deal will come back to bite us. He has rightly been a legend and a superb player but time has caught up with him. He offers little now and we are crying out for a half with flair and pace. Defensively we will still be hard to beat but we are so poor in attack that we simply don't score enough points to be winning trophies. I saw a stat somewhere that in the last 7 games against Catalan and Wigan we haven't scored more than 13 points once (or maybe just 1 in 7 I can't fully remember)
Welsby hasn't been assisting a lot of tries but he literally looks the only player capable of creating something. I shuddered when he went down injured. We have little pace across the backline and considering Wellens made a bullish statement pre-season of us having worked on our attack all pre-season I have seen little if any improvements.
Unless this improves as the pitches dry up then we will be there or thereabouts but no cigar.
Just my own opinion but I can see Blake back in Aus by June with a mutually agreed termination of a contract and maybe we can somehow get an Aussie replacement who is playing Reserve level but still good enough and they can offer some pace and something different.

Anti social behaviour is going to increase in St Helens if all those posters are out on the street with nothing to do

| Clearly the ancient server for RedVee blew up when French signed his new deal.

| Watching Saints on Saturday was like watching Saints every single week. Tough to break down, they make you work hard around the middle to defend against them but there is a lack of ball movement and general attacking threat. Big games are mainly won via your defence though, so they're every chance of winning silverware. If they cannot improve that attack (and it's been like this for well over 12 months) the challenge for Wellens will be keeping the players excited about defending their way to wins every week. It's a long season to try and do it over 27 league games, cup games and play off games, especially as the pitches dry out and it becomes harder to keep teams out.
They again give another example of why I said after the Derby that I do not see things changing too much from Saints. What you see is what you get but it's still extremely tough to beat. One big learning Wigan can take from it is that you have to get in to Walmsley as soon as he takes possession of the call. Catalans did a fantastic job on him and he then looks clumsy, rather than the rampaging nuisance he was against us.

They certainly did - although it's arguably a bit easier with Lees missing and Mata'utia playing at centre.
Saints were obviously not remotely at their best vs Cats, but they still very easily could've won and would probably have beaten 80% of the league comfortably on that performance. I think the last few games have backed up what plenty have been saying for a while. When they've got most of their first team out they're a seriously tough proposition. But I still think three or four injuries hurts them more than it should hurt a team challenging for honours.
I can't see them really falling away as the season goes on, but at the same time I'd be surprised if they manage to peak at the back end when you really have to. Unless they get very fortunate on the injury front, that is.

True and then we obviously didn't have the confidence in guys like Mago, Nsemba and Leeming to defend that lead late in the game and Byrne was off the field, who Peet would have total faith in. That will be different when Havard and Cooper are back available and it will hopefully mean everyone is fresher throughout the full 80 minutes and pressure Walmsley right from the first minute to the last.

And we were down to 12 players for 30 mins.
