Nothing more to say on the Noble situation but just answer me this, where have you dreamt up i have done this disappearing act?
Why would i disappear anyway? Because MM was named head coach?
Why should i disappear because of that? Where did i argue that he wouldnt be head coach?
In truth ive never disappeared. If you want to claim some kind of sad victory because a man sometimes cannot get on a RL forum because of work then you keep telling yourself that.

| After our best league season for a decade i would like to say once again 'Thank you Ian Lenegan' for turning our club around on and off the pitch in such a short space of time.

I suggest someone bookmarks these threads, so we can look back on them in 12 months....!!!'"

Haven't heard much from him of late.
Of course, he had "an axe to grind with Ian Lenagan", and a man must stick to his principles.

Clearly, someone felt it was a timely moment to resurrect it.
Can't be bothered going through it all, but if memory serves, there was a school of thought (which I didn't agree with) that Maguire could only be said to be an improvement on Noble if he actually won something in his first season. Why it had to be his first season, I don't know, given that Noble didn't win anything in four seasons. But anyway, given that Maguire HAS won something in his first season - and the presentation is this Friday evening, I suppose whoever dug the thread up felt that he was closing the debate.

Looking back at my post I can fully say that this has been BY FAR the most enjoyable season for many a year.
Back in 1987 we were lucky enough not to have had a playoff system, Wigan were crowned as true Champions having only lost two league games all season, had the 'rugbyposts' not been moved we would also be crowning a Championship win on Friday Evening - but ce la vie.
Wigan this season have possibly been coached as well as (if not better to perform) than Graham Lowe's 1986/1987 team, as Lindsay made signings and they strengthened along the way, whereas we haven't (other than Deacon).

| 12 months on, i dont think any Wigan fan would disagree that IL made the correct decisions in what he did and the people he appointed.

| IL has turned the club around.
Off the field he has put the club on a sound financial basis for now and going forward.
On the field has been beyond any fans expectations.
He took over the club prior to the 2008 season and now in 2010 so many have said we are the most consistent team in SL. We have finished top of the league and going into the play offs in a very good position.
The improvement in 2010 is due to IL appointing MM as club coach and bringing in a new coaching and fitness set up.
Management is about making things happen, IL has made a lot of very good things happen at Wigan.
Well done and thank you Ian Lenagan

Precisely.
He had a big call to make for the future of the club, and the seaosn we've had would suggest he's got it right.

Ironically, though I tended to back him when others were skeptical, I think we should leave off the thanks and congratulations at the present time. He's done a pretty job so far, no question about that, but I feel it's a job that's not even half done yet, and I'm sure he'd say the same.
We've some way to go before we regain our crown, but we're definitely going firmly in the right direction.
