Quote: Wigg'n "Wigan Warriors youngster Jack Higginson has joined Kingstone Press League One side Workington Town on loan.
Higginson, 19, made three appearances for the Warriors First Team in 2016 scoring one try and will join Macauley Davies at the Cumbria Club, initially for one month, with Kyle Shelford re-joining Wigan.

| An update is in the WEP-
Tierney-Doesn't need surgery but is looking at 6 weeks on the sidelines.
Sutton-Is likely to be out for a month.
Burgess-They don't think it's a long term injury but could need surgery and early indication is about 6 weeks out. He does need another scan though to see the full extent of the injury (so I presume that could change).
The evening post seems to indicate Gildart may be OK for Thursday and they mention Bateman may be OK (but don't seem to know too much).

Seems Waney is inclined to use Davies rather than Forsythe.

| Happy with either Davies or Forsyth but would like be to get Gildart or Bateman back so we have two good centres alongside the two young wingers
The squad can cope with the other injuries without too many problems.

I wouldn't worry about Higgy going out on loan at the moment he would be behind Forsyth and Tom Davies in the pecking order anyway.

I think the result of the disciplinary is fair - it looked fairly innocuous at the time. Careless & poor technique sums it up I think. It is a contact sport, after all.

What charge would you prefer? The incident looked OK to me after several viewings of the video.

I thought it should have been a higher grade, he appeared to twist Burgess's leg after the tackle was completed, but that was from my initial viewing at the game.

He didn't
Burgess was doing well and dominating the tackle and had made 3/4 metres after initial contact
Acton used his leg to block budgies and bring him down.
The type of thing you see 2/3 times every game.
Budgie was unlucky in that the 2 other tacklers weight seemed to being him down 1 way whilst actons leg action stopped his leg from following.

Yup, that's how I saw it.

| There's too many calls for bans nowadays simply because an injury was picked up in a tackle. It's a contact sport and injuries will happen.
I've still never got over the fuss after the 2013 GF in regards to Hansens tackle on Ratchford. He simply went to complete the tackle and Ratchford fell awkwardly yet you'd think he'd tried to finish his career.
I understand Rogues claiming it though because we've faced a constant stream of claims of foul play for similar incidents over the past 7 years.

| The one injury that I didn't see was Clubb's neck injury last season. Was their any malice in that one?

I don't think so. It's Sika Manu who makes the tackle and Clubb has his back to him, Watts joins the tackle as well so that's quite a bit of meat on top of you and Clubby just seems to fall awkwardly on his neck. Doesn't look like a "crusher" tackle which is what Waney was saying I think.
You can judge for yourself here anyway - rlhttps://youtu.be/IXmho_EXRc0rl
It's at about the 1:20 mark.
