Look around you, we are 2nd on points difference and haven't hit top gear yet. I'd say the future looks very bright and whilst the rugby isn't as fluent as it could be, I'm sure it soon will be! If you can't enjoy it by all means stay at home! Otherwise support your club and get behind the lads regardless of who is pulling on the shirt.'"
Maybe I've been spoiled over the last 36yrs of watching them I don't know, but what I do know is that the rugby we are playing doesn't fill me with any confidence at the moment.

The fact that the rest of SL are worse than we are doesn't mask the fact we are a very dull team to watch. The only positive is we can grind results out better than the rest it seems. Yes the effort is good, yes it's good the kids are doing their bit, yes 7 wins from 8 games is a great start. Thing is, SL is garbage to watch, and Wigan are equally as dull as the rest. Every game in SL is the same, same plays by every team, just different names.
Am I being negative, even with 7 wins from 8 and a team full of kids? Yes I am, because we are so bereft world class talent, ideas and craft it's not even close to being a positive.

| A wins a win I suppose. It was far from pretty but Leeds and Wire would have taken an ugly win today.
One thing today has confirmed- Tierney can't ever be picked ahead of Sarginson at full back again. He doesn't do a lot wrong when he's involved (his horror drop aside) but he doesn't get involved enough. We play a whole game plan that revolves around a really busy full back popping up all over the field but Tierney doesn't do that.
Sarge was the difference tonight for me. He's been fantastic over the Easter weekend.

I agree with you. I've also been watching Wigan since 1979 and yes we have been spoiled rotten! However I try to keep a realistic head. SL will never attract the Brett Kenny, Mal Meninga class of player again and the worlds best players will always remain in the NRL.
I worry about our lack of creativity this last couple of seasons but I'm still a glass half full bloke. I think we have more improvement in us than any other side and when we hit our straps for 80 minutes we will destroy somebody! It'll come, soon I hope!

Agree 100%
However some posters will be on here soon saying sarginson has never played well for Wigan etc.
Fantastic good Friday, changed the game along with TT and Powell tonight.
I've been very impressed since he's moved to FB this year (and to be honest I thought he did pretty well at centre early season).

Agreed, But I don't fault Wane for at least trying to rest Sarge and Powell in readiness for Wire. Having them on the bench was clearly with a "plan B" in mind if we were struggling with Waterworth and Tierney.

| We started the season without our first choice key pivots, 1/6/7/9/13 all playing together because of Tomkins being injuried and we've been losing them ever since.
In our last four games we've had ONE of these players playing in their proper position yet we're 7 from 8 and can go top on Friday with a win.
I think it's safe to say that there might be a few reasons why our attacks hasn't been great yet.

| Glad to get the win, Hull KR turned up looking much more determined than in previous years IMO so to end up with a fairly comfy margin is pleasing, particularly with such a young team. Hopefully that hat trick will help Charnley kick on, the amount of stick he has taken on here for having a bit of personality and a life outside rugby has been embarrassing at times. Hope we start to get a few bodies back soon, the injuries are really starting to stack up!

Like the 11,000 people in the stadium did tonight? Any sort of atmosphere was absolutely void. It wasn't just me that was bored. A couple near me were talking about how many Easter eggs they'd eaten over the weekend, kids were sat playing games on their phones and another old bloke was reading the ingredients on his Werther's originals for about 5 mintues.
Yes it as a good win, yes it's great to be joint top and 2/2 over Easter and all that but Christ I hope we are going to get some entertaining games soon!

Agree RE: Charnley! People stalking him on twitter and instagram and claiming they know the guy is ridiculous. He's confidence has been low at times but he's never given less than 100% for this club on and off the field.

I've heard comments that he'll be no loss when he goes to the NRL at the end of the year. I begged to differ and do so even more now. He strikes me as a big game player and he'll thrive down under.
You can't knock his effort for us this year regardless of him leaving or not.

The way I see it, we are the best of a bad bunch and SL in general appears to be suffering with a real lack of excitement and talent. Does the fact we are better than the rest of the dross make us good? Not really is my answer.
The fact some people aren't happy clappers and look at more than results doesn't make them wrong. Maybe it's just a different viewpoint of the same situation? You are happily satisfied with where we are, I am not. No right or wrong, just a different view.

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |
