| IMO Manfredi this season is playing better than Budgie last season, once Josh returns we should be switching Dom to the left. Why help develop Budgie to benefit the Roosters

I can't agree.
It's not about developing Burgess. He's a good player now and we've got trophies to play for now. His form is superb and is far better then anything Charnley has produced for a long while.
2016 will take care of itself but 2015 is here and now.

But, thankfully, only Grimmy agrees with you.

| It's nice to have the option I suppose. Hampshire has been superb so far and we'll have to take the rough with the smooth in regards to the high kicks because what he'll being in other areas far outweighs his frailties.
We've got options all over the place now which is great to see.

| Has Manfredi played full back ever? big lad, can tackle and would be scary breaking into the line. imagine Josh, Burgess and Dom as your back 3!!!!
as for Sarg, the guy needs to gain a good stone of muscle, against Wire he went for his tackles but just got bounced off by a bigger man. I would rather see him lose a fraction of speed and muscle up. dont doubt there is a talent there and pace to burn, he just needs more pounds on him.

Not that I recall. I think he played at #6 or #13 as a junior.
Joe Burgess played quite a bit at fullback. Burgess #1, Charnley #2, Manfredi #5, Hampshire #6 and Williams at #7 would see some zip in the backs.

| My worry with Hampshire is that in a big game with scores at a premium you are giving the opposition an easy attacking option, get to the Wigan 40 hoist up a bomb, Brought, Sinfield, Walsh would have used that advantage better than Wire did

He will learn and come back stronger. We can't cast him out like we did with Jack Murphy, we ruined that lads career.
Leeds fans always drone on about Hardaker being better than Tomkins because he can catch bombs and defend but he struggled with at least 1 that I saw last night.

| Quote: sergeant pepper "I personally think that on form Charnley is more dangerous than Burgess as he's got a swerve/step.
Burgess is excellent in that Richards role where it goes wide quickly and he opens his stride and pulls away but how often have you seen him jink round a player? Charnley can do both but might not have the hands of Burgess (see last nights pass to Faz).
The only issue is Charnley hasn't shown his top form in a LONG time.'"
Charnley showed his top form last year when he came back from injury. As I recall he went on an absolute tear and was absolutely devastating with ball in hand.
He hasn't hit anything like it this year.

| Burgess could be a very good fullback with his pace and handling skills. It would allow Manfredi and Charnley to play on the wings, although it means dropping Hampshire and I hope that doesn't happen after the Wire game. Yes, he dropped a couple of kicks but world class players have done the same. Wane needs to show him he has faith in him as he had been showing great improvement in that area.
Also, I'd rather see Manfredi keep his place on the right with Charnley played on the left. Manfredi has looked far more comfortable on the right and didn't quite look as confident on the left. Charnley's form playing on the left wing earned him a regular spot under Maguire when Richards returned from injury back in 2011, before he replaced Goulding on the right.

| Drop Burgess. We need to think of the team and club in general. We need Josh playing to regain match fitness and find his form to get back to the player he is, which is an international fantastic winger.
Dom needs game and time to develop what's already been a fantastic start.
I don't see the point in developing Joe into a better player by giving him game time at the expense of Josh when in 6 months he's be nothing to do with the club. We need to think long term.

I don't agree, your aim as a club is to be successful, continually looking to next season doesn't work. We always have players about to leave, you play the best team you have available to give yourself the best chance of winning something. This season Burgess has to be in the team, he's our best winger at present, to leave him out on principal is sort of self defeating to me, and I'm sure the club feel the same.
Injuries will happen, players need a rest due to dip in form or fatigue. The time will come for all three of them without the need to drop players because they chose to leave at the end of their contract.
I didn't advocate dropping Mossop and Tomkins, they added to our team and we won trophies, the same goes for Burgess.

| if the Coach is judged on results then he plays the best 17 week in week out that are available apart from the obvious rotation to rest players who are fatigued through playing long hard games

2572.jpg Ah, good taste!
What a dreadful thing!
Taste is the enemy of creativeness.
