Not sure why exactly but maybe because we have another game the week after winning at Wembley, whereas the Grand Final is the season finale.

We got stung by two young ladies before the game at the car park when they asked us if the kids wanted their faces painted (something which is done for free at the DW), thirty seconds later the kids had a Wigan crest stencilled on each cheek and I was told it would be a fiver....they must have made a fortune as we saw loads with the same design.

Challenge Cup for me, I grew up wanting to score the last minute full lengther against Saints to win it, plus its the best looking trophy in the world by far.

Ordinariliy I'd have said the Grand Final, as last year that felt like a very, very tough trophy to win - the play-offs are colossally intense matches.

But on the occasion of this particular CC, Wigan needed to beat both Warrington and Saints to reach the final. Rarely can there have been tougher cup ties, though of course some teams have got to Wembley meeting no tough opposition en route at all - so I have to say, ultimately, that a Grand Final victory is still the bigger prize

The challenge cup is very very special on a personal level and on a Wigan level but I can understand why people are saying the GF as the atmosphere at Wembley just wasn't quite there on saturday. Had a great day don't get me wrong but for me it was my first time to the new Wembley and as we pulled up I said to my mate, its not wembley. We didn't go down wembley way cos of the weather and just a few little things made it a bit wierd

All that coupled with the fact the the Grand Final was our first for so long - the first for our lad aswell just made teh GF a pretty special day.

If you don't win the GF the CC means dick! This year will be special for you guys but if the pie success goes on for a good few seasons the CC cup becomes very hollow pretty quick! That's what the saints fans will tell you. It's no comfort on GF night if you go home empty handed. I'm over the CC defeat already! It takes me months to get over a GF lose.
