| Quote: inside_man "if shearer stayed with newcastle next year they'd be straight back up. Just as if he'd been there all season they wouldn't have gone down.'"
As Cruncher has already said complete guesswork.
For someone with alleged leadership and motivational qualities, Shearer's Newcastle went down without a whimper yesterday. I don't think I've ever seen a more gutless performance from a team who were in Newcastle's position as the one I saw yesterday. There was nothing there at all considering they needed to get something out of the game. No fight, no passion.

| If we are to replace Noble, and I'm one who would give him one more year, then Brian Smith IMO would be an ideal candidate.

| 1-Morgan
2-Kearney
If we push hard enough and offer a deal neither can turn down then we could have one of the above imo. Forget the likes of Bennett as he’ll stay where he is. Forget Lam as there are far better/more experienced coaches out there and forget Edwards who has said he won’t leave London till his kid is old enough or left school.
Also i realise people will say why would Morgan come and leave Hull KR when they are doing so well? But with absolutely no disrespect intended to Hull KR are they really that better than us that Morgan would think it so stupid to even consider it? The gulf may look big in league standings but it’s not a gap which would potentially put someone off who wants a challenge.
The differences between the two teams when we played were some bad decisions from Smith; Dobbo controlled the game better and most importantly a better team spirit and belief imo.
Morgan could sign a better HB and he could foster a better team belief and spirit imo.
Add on top of that the better training facilities, academy and ground we have over KR we could defiantly get him listening to offers from us. We are a big club no matter what other fans will try and tell you and we could turn the heads of most of the coaches in SL Leeds and Saints aside. Noble is proof of that.
Kearney also is a person that’s served a long and fruitful apprenticeship and he’s also dabbled in a head coaching role with NZ. He’s a well respected person who was also a great player and heads and shoulders above Lam and further developed as a coach also. If we were going to go down the road of looking for an assistant to step up to head coach Kearney is the far better choice imo.
Lam just doesn’t make sense I truly believed he would drown in the Wigan role if he was given it now. Great player without a doubt1 But was he the most professional player when compared to the likes of Faz or Rads? Not from what I remember, saw or heard about during his time here. Far, far to much risk involved

I would like Smith Coach/Director of rugby in with Lam as assistand/head coach, depending on what role Smith would be plced in.

I've beensaying for ages that I'd love to see Ricky Stuart. Pure class as a player, trained under Wayne Bennett. He's been involved in top class rugby and club level, state of origin and internationals both as a player and coach.
Please Mr Lennigan, bring Ricky Stuart to Wigan.'"
Won the NRL with the Roosters but has been slightly less successful since. At the Sharks he did a woeful job, but given the state of the Sharks, it is too harsh to right him off.
Would not be a bad import. A proven winner, as player and coach.

Not sure the KNights would be willing to let him go. He has really turned that club around since the departure of Joey Johns. Also, Smith wants to win an NRL title before his career is out. He won't be doing that at Wigan.

| I'd love to get Des Hasler in. He has taken the whole sport science thing to another level in the NRL and is just the type of coach who would not only revolutionise Wigan, but would bring in new philosophies that would change coaching for the better in Super League, in much the same way Monie did when he first came to Wigan.

Is he going to leave those lovely beaches in Manly for the rain in Wigan?

I wouldn't leave the rain in Leeds for the rain in Wigan, but money talks at the end of the day.

| If Lam wasn't a former Wigan player there would be very little buzz about him.
We need a top draw Aussie coach.

| I don't think the gap in the league will be the problem for Justin Morgan coming here.
I think he will feel that he hasn't done everything he could do at KR, and the way they are going that means a CC and a SL title, Noble came to us because he'd won everything with Bradford and wanted a new challenge. The Bradford board also gave permission for us to speak with him.
I very much doubt we will get permission to speak with him regarding signing, or just be able to throw money at him 'till he signs.
I'd like to see an unknown come in, someone who hasn't won everything, who can bring in fresh idea's and stay a step ahead of the game, rather than just staying with the current leaders I want us to be the leaders.

No no no!!! I would dispare if we went for McDermott, we do not need another Bradford Bulls trained coach. We either go for the fella that started the ball rolling at Bradford or avoid them like the plague.
