I said exactly the same at the game. However, Sts were pretty good today. There goal line defence was outstanding and they took their chances clinically. Lomax has certainly done himself no harm for the England 7 shirt

| Us and Wire have just swapped roles from last season. It just shows once again how much the challenge cup takes it out of you, it needs to be much earlier in the season, like end of July/June.
Saints defence was awesome today, but we were clueless in attack. Deacon was awful.

| I think thats it for us to be honest. I cant see us beating Catalan we look well and truely shattered as a team. Too many players standing around lead footed. I think we peaked in the CC quarter final and Semi Final and weve being slowly going down hill from there.

| I said before the game Farrell should have been rested, we lost that game in the forwards, needed power up front, should have been Mossop and Cross on the bench. Faz missed a crucial tackle on Lomax and was caught ballwatching for their second try in the 2nd half.

| I've not seen us look so lethargic and tired for a long time. We were outplayed in ever department today and can have no complaints about the loss. I'm certainly not saying there was a lack of effort on our part, Just the superb fitness that we had at points over the last 2 seasons seems to of burnt out now. Have we been worked too hard in training? who knows but I think its going to take an almighty effort to turn it around next weekend.
Wigan doing things the hard way as usual it seems!

Yes i agree should have rested most of the entire side last week against Crusaders. Instead of playing some players who really needed the rest. Hindsight is a marvellous thing but it was obvious against Crusaders that we were headed for defeat this week and i think we will get turned over by Catalans next game.
About the only thing MM got wrong in almmost 2 seasons but it was a mistake not to rest most of the pack along with Carmont, TL, Finch last week.

| Lets just hope Hull FC can beat the Winos, would much rather play them than the Catalan Dragons next week.

| Harsh to blame Farrell, I wish some of the others had the same enthusiasm and input with the ball. I thank Deacon for his contribution but it is time for him to leave the side now. He is a constant target in defence and although he tries hard I counted on numerous occasions the number of times he was involved in 3 consecutive tackles. Both him and Finch are distributing and not taking the line on enough (ironically Finch took it on and Locky scored for instance). I'd like to see Sam move to 6 for some unpredictability, Pat to fullback and Goulding maybe on the wing. Our backs had no ball today in the right areas. Well doen to Saints, we move on with a lack of confidence and I think the end of season is upon us sadly.

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

| Not really got any excuses. Todays game means nothing if we win next week though. We are back to the same situation and I would rather play saints away.

| The only slight positive i can see from us losing today is if we do manage to play Saints again we will go there with a point to prove and determined to put things right. Had we beaten them again today would we of been over confident next time around?

He made a couple of bad errors. Every game has a gamebreak moment and that Lomax break early in the second half was it after we had just scored. We would have had our tails up before that and could have took the game to them only being 2 points behind but their score soon after deflated us again. Like i put in another post Mossop would have been excellent cover in the 2nd row and also the beef we needed against their pack.

3 more games.
Biggest reason is that the main players have not been rested. Before and after CC final the last 2 seasons Wire have rested players. Should have rested players especially last week. Taking nothing from Saints we were poor today but we have been rather poor in the last 3 now. Only team i think that can stop Wire now in Leeds. Will be 1 hell of a choice for Tony Smith if he has the choice of Leeds or us. Leeds are playing well the last few weeks and are running into form.
