IL should announce Wane's appointment on the eve of the GF (assuming we get there icon_razz.gifRAY: ).

What a boost that would be to the team. They could then go out and beat Wire (assuming they get there and don't have the usual play-off crash and burn icon_lol.gif ) for Madge AND Wane.

I think it will be Wane and really do hope it is.

He's a brilliant coach and has learnt loads from Madge that we need to carry on next year. It would be no good bringing in someone else with different methods etc when our current tactics and systems work.

A while back I did have a feeling Wane may be going over to Souths to assist Madge but from watching them in training it looks dead on that Wane has the job. He's starting to do a lot more of the work now and there seems to be slightly less input from Madge.

peter gentle seems to be linked with almost every vacant position in super league lately....first salford then HKR now Wigan....is he after a pay rise back in Australia ...????

I've heard this rumour a couple of times now over the last week, not sure what to think of it. On one hand a team of Gentle, Wane and Harris seems a very strong one but on the other I don't think much change is needed after Madge leaves and surely appointing a Head Coach outside the club will bring its own ideas and change the way we play and I'm not sure that's the way to go this time round.

I hope Wane gets it with Harris as his assistant.

Is it from the same group that were adamant Gareth Hock had done a u-turn and signed for Hull? And even after he had signed for Wigan and had been announced the same people were adamant Hock was trying to get out the deal?

I havn`t got a clue matey, the first i heard was from Sean Long on his twitter and then more meat has been added to the bone this morning, could be a load of poop which is why i asked on here as i thought you would of heard something if it was true, all i would say is that if Wane was to be appointed as coach why hasn`t it been announced by Mr Leneghan, it seems starnge as everone knows that Madge is going back to Oz.

I agree with the last bit. Although Ian Lenagan has a habit of delaying announcements. It's been something that has miffed some Wigan supporters off since his arrival, but some of us need something to moan at every now and then. It's a supporters prerogative to have something to moan at.
