| James Roby has been having a good season and Ben Westwood has done well. It's certainly not a two horse race

| Could be anyone from;
Sam Tomkins
James Roby
Ben Westwod
Rangi Chase
At the risk of starting a mass debate by bitter opposition fans I think Sean O'Loughlin would deserve it as much as any of the above. More so than Rangi Chase actually.

Not wrong there.
Just wait for the Saints and Wire trolls though praising Foster and Bridge. Get out your weapons

| Think you can had Mikey Monas to that list. He seems to be the one that makes Wire tick.

| The players vote for it therefore Sam won't win it imo. If the press voted for it then I think Sam would walk it.

33718_1325770967.jpg Games as big as Grand Finals define individuals and clubs. Remember, we only rent these journeys. In my time I had Pat Richard's shirt. Ellery Hanley had Sean O'Loughlin's jersey. Sam Tomkins is wearing Radders' number one jersey. Andy Coley is wearing Shaun Wayne's jersey. You have to make a mark in these shirts before you hand it down to someone else. Hand it back. So be aware for 80 minutes that you are not only playing, but you are also writing history and creating legacy. How many people actually write history - not many? A big stage demands big players…..INSPIRE YOUR TEAM MATES.

| Its a one horse race. Even the players can see that Sam is easily the best player in SL this season.

| I doubt you'll hear any St Helens fan, that has a clue, fighting Fosters corner with regards to MOS.
At this stage on the year i'd say its between Roby, Chase & S Tomkins, all three of them are having great seasons.

| Can only be between Sam, Roby in reality, but O'Loughlin and Westwood should be in with shout too.

O'Loughlin
Shoud be it by a country mile, people really dont understand just how much this guy does, opposition coaches even call him the the best in the league, speaks volumes imo. Just because hes not scoring full length trys does not mean he is not the man of steel, 63 tackles, non missed, That is steel.; The whole systems a joke for me, sams worthy yes, but lockers define MAN OF STEEL.

| Roby has got to be the Main Contender, he has been superb for us this year, we have been well down on the troops and he is probably one of the main reasons we are still up there in contention with the top 3. In attack he has been tremendous and just keeps going, he is like a Duracell Battery and never tires, looking at the stats makes interesting reading. He will probably set an all-time record for most meters in a season since superleague began this year….
Below is a list of the best meter makers year by year.
2003 – Vanikola with 3677m
2004 – Korkidas with 4084m
2005 – 0’Connor with 4104m
2006 – Nutley with 3372m
2007 – Roby with 3303m
2008 – Graham with 3774m
2009 – Graham with a staggering 4582m
2010 – Graham with 4036m
2011 – Roby leads with 4330m already, Graham is in 2nd with 3333m and Tomkins is in 3rd with 3130m
And then take a look at his stats in defence it’s quite shocking, Sean O’Loughlin is the best tackler at Wigan by a long way, and even if you add all his tackles, plus all Sam Tomkins tackles and even through in Pat Richards tackles as well, Roby has still done more tackles than the lot of them combined. Roby simply is not human…
Away from Saints, I think Sam Tomkins, Menzies, Chase, Monas have impressed me most and in that order..
