I am not convinced it was a decent interview really. We all know that Tez was busted for the growth hormone but the interview never seemed to get away from this fact all the way through. When it did it seemed to concentrate on Newtons indescretions or hard upbringing and the demise of his sister. No wonder Tez was depressed. Somewhere along the line the interviewer should have prompted Tez to talk about some of his successes and get him to inject some of the humour that came out in his autobiography.

If you listen to it again he tried twice to get Terry onto other subjects but it was Terry who got back to his sister and the HGH.

Still doesnt seem real to me.

Fair enough pal I'm not getting at you. I still think that an experienced interviewer/commentator such as Ian Cheeseman should have been able to get more out of the interview than he did.

I thought at the time that the Carney interview on the superleague supermen programme went abit the same way aswell tbh. I know Newton made a huge mistake and cheated but that was right at the end of what was a superb career and I thought more should have been made of that.

They had to talk about the drug taking of course but that was literally all that was mentioned for the full 30min programme and Carney just seemed to keep repeating the same questions over and again(I presume he doesn't come up with all the questions).

I'd like to point out thats something I thought at the time of the interview aswell and not just since everything thats happened. It was as though he'd never actually had a 'clean' playing career when infact he'd some fantastic times and achievments.

Just finished listening to the GMR interview and I thought it was very good. I thought it had a good balance between the drugs ban and his fantastic career.

Alot better then the 'supermen' interview imo.
