| It had some reference to Newton on it, definitely caught that much earlier on the BBC highlights.

Thats exactly what was written on it.
Brought me out in goosebumps when he did that.
And just how fired-up was Gleese for this game??
Awesome performance in honour of Tez.

| Yep R.I.P Terry and a few of the other players had it on their wristbands as well.
Great touch.

| He says in tomorrows Mail that he wanted to win it for Terry.
A fired up Gleeson like yesterday is still the best centre in the comp.

His best game in Cherry 'n' White, superb display, just a shame Terry wasn't there.

He is and given his not so great reputation on the professionalism front the fact Madge picks him ought to tell us he's in with the program.
He was great in the GF and if he isn't in the four nations I give up.

I agree, if he stepped out of line, he'd be out, clearly he has matured and finally found somewhere he fits.
The fact the lads ditched booze for the duration of the play offs shows what they mean to each other, Martin im sure will have enjoyed a drink since.
You can form an argument for all our English players who played in the final playing for England, Gleeson especially, but tbh, i dont want any of them anywhere near McNamara or the embarrassment that will follow.

Me either - the fact that he cant even coach a bunch of super league players to victory against a bunch of amateurs speaks volumes.

I don't want any of our players within 10 miles of that clown, but he is gonna pick at least three. PNG will beat England, it's awful.

I am a great fan of International RL and would dearly love to see proper tours come back again. There is IMO nothing better than beating Australia over a three match series and having them play the best club sides as they used to do.
Unfortunately RL is not like that any more and I am with you the McNamara front and have no confidence in either who he will select or how he will coach the side.
I predict Gleeson will be left out as too old and it's stupid if that happens. The idea is to win it and you don't do that minus the best centre in the competition.

Not a needless post! I had been intrigued by it too! So because you asked I get to know! God Bless Terry, I know he had his faults but we all do......just not so much in public.

| Gleeson was left out earlier in the season for some off the field matter (missing training? - can't remember). Seems to have got his finger out since.

| Not pinning the defeat on Gleese at Leeds away but it was so fitting for me that he got us under way at Old Trafford last Saturday. We all know Mr Bentham was the main reason for that defeat - sin binning Faz was one of the worst decisions ive seen in a long while until Ablett performed GBH on Sam and didnt get sent off.
Yes Gleese missed THAT tackle at Shedingley in the CC and recieved a hell of a lot of stick for opposition fans, Wire especially but in the biggest game of the year he has come up and shown why he still plays in a team what can now call them selves the BEST team in the league.
Keep it up Martin.
