I think you'll find our organisation and kicking game were dire after he left the field. He isn't the reason we lost, but he didn't help matters.

i have said all along that wigan play better with deacon once he went off everything was disorganized,there was no organisation in the side.

No, but if you follow a common sense train of thought, which I understand is difficult for some people on here. If Paul Deacon was on the field, his kicking game may have helped us, as really, he would have done the share of the kicking, thus, not making the glaring faults in the other player's kicking games. You forgot to mention O'Loughlin too, who had a shocker with the boot today - which was directly due to Deacon going off, as he had to shift to Stand Off.

A huge loss when he went off but it's no excuse.

Our kicking game is probably the worst in superleague when Deacon isn't on the field.

No excuse, but it's part of the reason. Richards hasn't got the accuracy and Lulu only manages about one good kick out of every 4/5...

We won't do it the hard way..Maybe next year but tonights performance was typical of the current Wigan team in a big match..

And we are still playing with more or less the same team from last year...

Kicking was shocking when Deacs wasn't on the field. Tommy barely made a decent kick all night, sadly.

Do you not think he would have scored them anyway regardless of the position?

No. The freedom the fullback role allows him made it able for him to score them tries. The first one he ran the width of the field to get there for the kick. The second try he was the third receiver and his footwork/acceleration, coupled with the space made available to him allowed him to score. At stand off he would have been putting the kick or would have been first/second receiver.
