Seems SKY News are scaremongering that tonight is going to be the coldest of they year. Nowt wrong with that until they mentioned that temperatures could drop as low as, get this: -20 degrees, which is as cold as Moscow.

Let's just say, I went to Lapland last year where the temperature hovvered between -19 and -28, lets just say if it gets that low, we're in deep crap!
(We constantly wore SKI suit style clothing which was JUST enough).
I doubt it will get lower than -10. Just the press picking up on a story and making up numbers. |

They claimed to have recorded -18 in cheshire last night. Last Night didn't seem cold but tonight does to me.

It was -15 at work last night (Birchwood). I went out on the yard for an hour to get some info and came back in after 5 minutes. |

councils in cornwall and scarborough are using sand off the beaches to grit the roads.
now seeing that we are an island , would it be too much to ask that we start on the coast and work inwards all over the country?
if it works , it could replace earlier suggestions of flamethrowers, low loader braziers , and tactical nuclear explosions.  |
