FFS, hope that's not true. Want this game played at the DW and nowhere else, it's the whole point of having a cup draw! Surely DW can arrange to get the stadium turned round in 24 hours.
If you're right, hopefully it will be LSV as the Reebok is far too big. Could be a good occassion and atmos at LSV.

| Big discussions around LSV the whole of Yesterday apparently.
Would not surprise me one bit.
12500 crammed into LSV would be electric!

7914_1630875396.png I'm 49, I've had a brain haemorrhage and a triple bypass and I could still go out and play a reasonable game of rugby union. But I wouldn't last 30 seconds in rugby league.

| the club should withdraw from the cup if they cannot play at the DW - if it was planned for the same day fair enough - but to play a match 24 hours earlier is not a problem.
Withdraw from the cup and make a stand - this would be all over the papers and broadcasters - highlighting what a c n u t DW is

No, because Dave Whelan doesn't dictate whether Leigh can play a match on their own ground.

| Only one person responsible for this and once again just shows what a vindictive self serving spoilt brat Whelan actually is. Not to mention liar because its blatantly obvious he had no intention of allowing us to play at home last year either and was saved the indignity of backtracking on his empty promises by us losing to saints in week 1.
There are honourable men, there are rich men, but there are very few honourable rich men.

If the latics had been safe and with Wolves already relegated I dont think Whelan would have hesitated in allowing the match to be played at the DW.
I think the reason for being unhappy with the Rugby being played the day before is because of concerns about the pitch, even though some on here will say that the pitch is in good enough nick for 2 games in 2 days.
The problem would be though if we had a week of heavy rain the week before, would 24 hours be enough time to turn round a churned up pitch. If it was the other way round,Soccer before Rugby no problem.
There is so much money involved in promotion and relagation in Soccer (I have seen figures of 80 to 90 Million bandied about.
The Latics dont want to turn the last match into a lottery if they are not already safe.
I dont know if this angle as already been brought up but I am not trawling through 20 plus pages to find out. Cheers.

| i was under the impression that t w 4t whelan was a business man ?
to play the game at 'home' would almost guarenttee a sell out or close to ...
think of the revenue he would lose on that day if we are forced to play elsewhere

It's the equivalent of bus fare compared to Latics staying in the PL though.

That's nothing compared to the ego boost he would receive by not allowing us to play there. You can imagine him practically getting aroused at the mere thought of kicking us out.

| Not bothered from a playing perspective, I always think we're more likely to win away from home than at the DW against the big teams these days.
Just a real embarrassment for the club again and more annoying due to the fact its not even a fixture clash. Why does the Premier League hold such sway against other sports?

16304_1526976105.jpg [size=100:2md8k3b3][b:2md8k3b3]'Do you remember when we had that meeting in Orlando? We talked about how we were knocked out the previous year by Leeds. And at the end, I asked you one question. "Do you want to be a semi-final team? Or do you want to do something special?" You all said you wanted to win. But talking is easy – it needed you to believe. It needed you to work hard – harder than you had – and make sacrifices. You did all that. you worked for each other. You stuck together when it was tough. And because of your efforts, you sit here tonight as champions. I'm proud of you. Be proud of yourselves. You've done something special.'
