Just seen this and I wish someone would have helped him at the time - www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/8 ... t-him.html When players come out with things like this, it needs to be taken more seriously, and as a plea for help, rather than the rather synical way that human nature tends to look at things (ie/ that its exagerated etc. to help sell papers/ books etc.)

Just numb. Seeing pictures of him now and trying to understand what state of mind he must have been in to actually hang himself.

Offiah was probably close to the mark when he said on Twitter: "Sad time for RL- Maybe players who have failed tests need to be supported more and helped and not just ostracised from the game."

RIP Terry, you'll live on among the RL family, and especially among Wigan fans.

I just cannot understand why he felt the need to do this.

Id have to assume depression, which is clearly a horrible thing.

Also horrible was having to watch Eddie break the news and see Barrie / Carney react to it. Amazing they held it together.

So sad for him and his family. I hope others can meet this with compassion rather than judgement.

Absolutely stunned, why would you go and do a stupid thing like that Terry? Rest In Peace, the best English hooker of his generation, and one of the hardest Wigan players I've ever seen.

My thoughts are with Terry's family and friends. He provided us with so many wonderful moments for Wigan and Great Britain. He lived and breathed Rugby League and it is a massive shame it has come to this. He was often quite hot headed but you can't deny he was a passionate character and passion is what makes the sport so great. The image of him crying shall remain an iconic image and shows his love of the club.

RIP Sleep tight Tez, My thoughts are with his wife and family at this very sad time.
