| Having watched the game again.... he was solid, and I will say thats fine for now, but I stand by what I said, I would rather have Charnley in the team as I feel he has more of a long term future. I really hope Pryce proves me wrong this weekend.
I promise I will come on here and admit I was daft if he has a good game.

| After reading some of the nonsense here, I can't help but think what happened to the 'clean-slate' that the boo boys were giving the players under Madge, or is it only certain players who are getting the benefit of this?

Well it's good of you to come and admit he was solid, rather than the original non existant.
I really do think you're jumping the gun and worrying unduly about giving chances to the likes of Charnley - who is 18 years old (19 in June) and will get many opportunites.
I'd be more worried that Josh's birthday is on the 26th June, i.e. 26/06/2010, which if you watched Dr Who this weekend, should be spookily worrying to you!
Does anybody know how his body fat compares to other squad members?

I understand that it compares well but, as no-one has any idea of who has the lowest body fat in the Wigan squad, it would be difficult to come to any absolute conclusions.

| I think we should petition Mick Hogan and IL for this vital fact to be included in the player's bios, and maybe an overall league table at the club!
Get on it guys!

My money's on Walker! Not sure why I think that. Should I be right I think we'd all have to put it down to pure genius on my part.

Indeed, you're really going out on a limb there, with so many players to choose from and no guidance from anybody whatsoever. I can't believe something so vital has gone unanswered for so long

Well I am known for being brave. In fact Nathan Brown is going to use me as an enforcer on this board as he's getting no protection from the nasty mods!

| As an aside to this, there was a poster on here who was putting it around that Feka had the lowest body fat in the Wigan squad. I think it was someone called Pimps or Pants or something like that....

See above. There was a poster, Pumps I think his name was, who got there before you!

And in the same way people won't have a bad word said about someone just because he wears the cherry and white.
I've watched Karl since junior days at Odsal. I've watched him since and formulated MY OWN OPINION of him which is that i think he's attitude wastes his talent. He's never progressed further than "having potential." I always hope he plays well but IN MY OPINION we could do better.

I'm also willing to admit that I probably didn't give him as much of a clean sheet as he deserved. I didn't really take into consideration it was his first super league game for nearly a year, however is solid going to be good enough against widnes?
I still stand by other things I said though which is fair enough IMO, to say he had a poor game was wrong. Charnley will get many oppertunities but I think he should play next week.
Pryce really does have to kick start soon though, he has been here a long time now and needs to show some kind of form, I hope he does I really do. If he plays like we know he has the potential to do, he could be a star for England but I have never seen him working his socks off or playing with some real passion. These are some of the things that people on here said they wanted the team to do.

The answer would seem to be yes.
But...criticism of Pryce this season actually started in pre-season with one poster in particular criticizing Karl Pryce because he had not been working hard enough in training. Apparently during an exercise routine at Haigh Hall Karl Pryce came next to last in a run involving all of the players and as a result he was deemed to be lazy which i found quite ridiculous.
I thought Pryce did ok in the Huddersfield game and took his opportunity when it presented itself, i do hope that the try will help to develop his confidence and that he does get another chance against Widnes at the weekend.
Its time to get behind all the players....including Karl Pryce.

I am always wary of calls to get behind the players (as opposed to the team, an important difference) because there are some who think the players can do no wrong so make this call regardless of how good or bad they are playing individually or as a team. I think it's much better to take each player as they come if we want to talk individual performances and call a spade a spade.
EDIT I shoud also add come game day I don't care who is on the pitch they always have my full support whatever my opinions are of them in general.
With that in mind I agree with what you are saying about Pryce. I can't see what he did wrong given his experience (i.e lack of) and he took his try well.
I also remember the pre-season run post and while you can't say it was a positive thing to be trailing in last it was no reason to assume that was the end of his Wigan career.
Dave
