Reading this I'm glad someone agrees.
Brown is a good player but he's not what we need. We'd soon find out after signing Brown that we've still got the same problems/weaknesses in the team as we have now

| Brown is a stand off, a running one at that. He's not the organiser that we need.
He's a good squad player, probably a good replacement for Phelps as he wouldn't count on the quota. But he wouldn't improve us as I prefer Tommy's running game.
Plus, Brown's a liability in defence and warrington showed that this weekend.

I think brown would make a good full back the way he links in to the line.

20333_1393344959.gif Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

| End of the day we need an organising scrum half.
We could sign Darren Lockyer or Benji Marshall and we would still need an organising scrum half.
That should be top of the list before we even sign a prop because Tommy just doesn't cut the mustard at 7, he is a good player and always gives his best and I respect him a lot for that but is best quality is his ability to put a big hit in and you don't want that from your 7, no disrespect but I can't remember a game where he ran the show.
Tommy is an impact hooker IMO, we need a new 7, preferably an experienced one but who is out there?
Dobson?
I wouldn't mind Trent Barrett coming back and playing 7.
Anyone?

When he has played hooker he has been poor, i have no idea why people keep coming out with the statement that he is a hooker. Yes he played that role for the Kiwi's but he has also tried time and time again in our team and it has failed.
I am also fairly sceptical about him not being an organiser, when he was out we were all over the place when he returned the team clicked and direction was returned. He is not the finished article but he is getting there, i think the stick he gets about some aspects of his game are totally unfounded when you actually look at the evidence this year when he has played hooker and when he has been injured.

| No doubt Tommy is improving all the time. He's one of the few players that we signed under Noble who actually got better during his time with us.
But I don't think you can write off his career as a hooker after less than 10 games there also.
I still think he's got the skill sets 2 be a very good hooker

Any good half has, but what i am saying is his skill set is superior to be a 7. There seems to be this clamour for him to become an "impact" 9, a position which is currently becoming extinct/unnecessary under the current rules.
This call for him to be moved to hooker has come off basically the back of him in some eyes being unable to organise and a few big hits, yet when he was not in our team we looked totally direction-less, with him in it we look far more structured, I do not think it is a coincidence.

im not convinced, seems to go missing in big games. whether thats a knock on effect of the forwards around him going missing or both im not sure but i think there are better options out there. and sams a 6 as is brown and although the roles are similar i would not want sam at first receiver, i think it would restrict him too much. we would never get anyone like cronk but i personally am not that impressed with brown. i really like tommy at seven and we seemed lost and unorganised when he was out which i think disproves the myth he is not an organising scrum half. i would be happy if our 6 and 7 remained the same for a few years and look at centre and prop. i agree with you that tommy is not a 9 and the impact hooker role is becoming less important. if tommy was to be moved from the 7 jersey then i would prefer finch over brown.

I agree with the majority of this post.
I don't think Brown coming back would be a good move for club or player.
