As for those saying that Sam wouldn't be playing if Smith was still here, that simpily isn't the case.'"
Sam wouldn't be in the starting 13 imo.
He'd be on the bench.

[iHe did it more than once[/i
That is a different issue. What people are saying is Noble would stick with Smith regardless. Tomkins clearly isn't a player who should be loaned out so where would that leave him if Noble picked his side as he always has?
As to the separate issue of youngsters not getting game time that takes us back to the debate about Tomkins getting 1 game last season and a likely minimum of 21 this. It has always been said on here players should be introduced gradually. That can't happen if you rely in injuries to blood young players and I do not think that it has happened at Saints for example. So either the idea a gradual introduction is a good thing has gone out of the window or the way Noble picks his side is contrary to the opinions expressed on here.
Dave'"
If Smith had not been injured then Sam would have less game time as he would have been used from the bench more.
If McIlorum had not been injured than Sam would also probably have got a bit more bench time.
Speaking to IL and BN pre season the plan was to give Sam around 15 games. Injuries have made that change, and we don't have anothr half back in the reserve or academy side ready to come in and give him a rest.

Yes.

It has. DA always brought his "stars" back in straight away and used to say something about "they have earned enough stripes" to do so. Eastmond is only playing because Long is injured. Watkins at Leeds because Toopi was crippled etc etc. Sam got his because Smith was poor and he took it.

He doesn't deserve it. I hope IL has the guts to sack him if we start next season as we did this. Starting a fourth like we have the last three is just not acceptable. Actually starting three as we have done is not good enough and reason alone to get rid never mind the way he picks the team which if I had to pick my biggest beef with him would be at the top of the list.

Noble's record here does speak for itself - not good enough.

1 year slow start - play offs
2 Year slow start - play offs final elimiator
3 year very slow start but didnt lose by many and now running some form up
Hes been rebuilding a team since he got here, We had oliver wilks, Jordan james,
Now i dont proclaim to know everything but im sure where in a better shape than when he took over.
Also what happens if he won the CC and GF would you still not rate him??
Would he not be good enough??

You will never convince the blind ones who dont like Noble no matter how much you try.
If we won every game CC final and Superleague final some on here would still be calling for him to go

He is definitely the best British coach in Superleague and i for one would love him to get another 12 just to finish the job he came here to do. I think he has worked wonders with the club since he came pity some are so blinkered they cannot see just how much he has done for the club.

1st year clow start playoffs no tophies
2nd yesr slow start playoffs no trophies
3rd year very slow start - rest of season yet to come

The team he has built over three years has yet to match the consistency of the one he inherited in 2006. The fact that team in 2006 went from poor to really very good in a short space of time with just two players added too it shows it wasn't that bad a team to start with.
Quote: DJ-Warrior "Also what happens if he won the CC and GF would you still not rate him??

I would still want him to be replaced as I think he has taken us as far as he can. I think we need a different approach to kick on from here in a similar way to how Lowe moved us on from Clarke and McInnes.

It is actually i would us sooner have a British coach than an Australian i think we need to improve our own rather than keep going abroad for coaches even our national coach is not British in RL or Football and that is very sad.

Many 'Noble doubters' - and I wasn't always one, but I've been forced to it this season - have given considered views as to why they're concerned about Noble continuing at Wigan.
Are you sure you want to just dismiss those views as 'blinkered' or 'blind'? Without offering a proper counter-argument, doesn't that make you a little blinkered yourself?
And I don't think comparing and contrasting to when Millward was at the club tells the full story. There is more harmony behind the scenes than there was then. Quality youngsters have now grown up, but more importantly have been awarded contracts that have kept them at the club. Improvements like that could just as easily be put down to the new chairman as to the coach. After all, he was the one who read the Riot Act last season which galvanised us into making the play-offs. Noble didn't, even though it was his job to do that.
I can't help feeling that a lot of these calls for Nobby to keep his job - which, like it or not, have only started to appear en masse since we started our recent winning run - are a product of the usual end-of-season delusion. Only winning games at the end of the year is NO GOOD to us. We need a coach who can win games throughout the year - only then will we get back to the top of the table.

I have put my view forward on lots of occasions over the last 12 months. Nobles teams have always started slowly and not just at wigan and always been there or there abouts at the end of the season
