He needs to do it every game against them though not just as a one off.
This will be bitter oppositions fans new line.
Sam elevated himself right up the list of the worlds best players last night. He can quite rightly feel an equal in the company of guys like Slater, Smith, Thurston, Marshall etc.

| Was outstanding yesterday looked dangerous each time he got the ball and had the Aussies worries. He shoved the jeers right back at the bitters including the Stains fans sat behind me!
Has for RU. He had the chance this time if RU had wanted to stump up the million that Lenagan quoted! But hes off at end of year to join Madge!
He has no interest in RU and is staying loyal to our game but will still get the morons having a pop!!

hahahah i know its difficult to convey sarcasm, but the timing of the message is after the match. i was just reiterating what some of the non-believers have said, and was wondering how they will respond now. it all seems positive so far

I noticed that, they targeted Briscoe a lot. Very strange - you'd think they'd have tested Tomkins out with a few high bombs (which he's not the best under to be honest) rather than just kicking it at Briscoe (and occasionally Hall) all day.

| Tomkins was outstanding yesterday. He turned in the best performance I've ever seen from the full back position by a British player in an international.

| Quote SaintsFan="SaintsFan"Well, when all the nauseating hype of 2011 (which is still nauseating!) was at its peak, I said I wanted to see what Sam Tomkins did at international level before I would consider whether he is a world class player.
Today he showed that he is. There was none of his pathetic behaviour which spoils him. He was absolutely excellent. Along with Roby and Hall he stood out for England.'"
Apparently he only does bad things when he's wearing cherry and white
You've just seen what Sam does every week for Wigan

That's a stupid thing to say. Firstly, he didn't display any of the poor character traits on field yesterday that he has displayed in league games and which have resulted in fans from other clubs disliking him. Secondly, yesterday was an international, in case you haven't noticed, and for those of us who actually went to the game, club loyalties went out of the window because he was playing for England. So what he's like when playing for Wigan was irrelevant.

Well yes, quite. Lots of players play well for their clubs, though. The point I made was that if he could play as he plays for Wigan but at international level, then he's clearly an international player. He did, and he is. My only criticism of him from yesterday was he should have positioned himself better for the two tries Australia got when he needed to get under the ball and had time to do so. He is still a work in progress where goal line defence is concerned.

It was sarcasm. The so called poor character traits are not as bad as some supporters make out.

He has quite a long way to go in this department before he builds the sort of reputation that a certain Saints hero of recent times had.
But let's say what we mean. Stop flattering yourself. People like you have booed him in the past because he's a rare talent and because you a) jealous and b) sh**scared of him when he's playing against you. No other reason at all.

| IF and its a big if wigan lost tomkins to union it would be one of the sports darkest hours. For our sport to grow internationally Tomkins has to be an integral part. He is the most well known Rugby League player in england right now.
