I think it has great potential (imagine the atmosphere in there for a Wembley or GF homecoming) but they need to fix the beer prices and find some way of sticking TVs in'"
Stick TVs in and have classic games on with commentary and lower beer prices to normal prices. £3:50 is more than enough for a pint.

| It was only after I'd ordered that I was told a Guinness was £5. A bit steep for most Wiganers probably but if the extras are going straight to the club then okay.

| Price can be enough to put a lot of people off - forever - especially tight Wiganers.
£3.70 a pint and people will go in and buy 2-3 pints. £5 a pint and they'll buy none.
The club just have to be cute here and price match the bars in the DW, easy money.

Putting it up 50p in a week put some off

I noticed the Lockers trailer bar had gone up from £4 to £4.50 for a beer. I think people are right and the club really need to be careful. I’ve really enjoyed it these past two weeks and will continue to go but I work in Manchester City centre and £4.50 is about the norm but it’s expensive for what is essentially a sports hall in Wigan. It’ll be interesting to see how it all goes. If they improve the facility, put screens up and the like, people will continue to pay it but if I stays as it is now then I think numbers will drop over time as the shine wears off.
Is the club actually running that bar by the way or just letting a company pay to take the space and bring their own staff? Guess that would have some impact on what they can/can’t do.

The middle bar was £4.50 for lager last week (and this) but bitter had gone up from £4 to £4.50
I understand all bars being priced the same but should be no more than £4. The again...Heineken in the SS Bar was £4.60
It has the potential to be a huge success but I'd like to see something slightly more permanent than "bars on wheels" somehow that could open for away game showings and parties after big games (good friday, cup semi finals, finals)

Agree. It's not as if the South Stand bar pre-match isn't open anymore, it still is...... (I walked past last week and there was still a few hundred in there). If Wigan aren't careful they will price out the fans and that would be a shame. I agree, price match the DW and then there's no excuse, the only reason I can think is that the bars are sourced externally (obviously SOL has the gin bar).
Food was on offer last week (Via the beer bar) with Hot Dogs at £4.
I'm sure the club could knock out a few crates of warm meyt and prater pies, therefore ALL revenue goes to the club?

I noticed that the beer bar was a different company the 2nd week to the one who ran it against Wire. Agree slightly more expensive. The club obviously has an alcohol licence with the Kingfisher Bar upstairs so no reason why they can't staff a large permanent beer bar for themselves. Maybe they will do this long term.

Come on, the price of food and drink at all sports stadia including the DW Stadium and the Fan Zone/Horsebox is a rip off, especially when those serving it are only getting the minimum wage.

Paying £3.70 upwards for a beer/lager/Stout when the same beer/Lager/Stout can be bought elsewhere at a far cheaper price is not being tightfisted.
More like having a bit of common sense!

Not sure about your minimum wage comment as we have no proof, however your right about sports stadia in general ripping people off. Greed springs to mind and I think Wigan have gone down the same route. I’m all for putting money into the club but I won’t be lured into being fleeced by them.

At the moment there is disparity between prices inside the DW (lounges and concourse bars) against the arena fan zone beer bar even if its only 50p-£1 per drink.
As I said the club needs to price match the stadium prices to take away that disparity. It might seem churlish to think that a supporter will walk away from the fanzone for a mere 50p-£1 but if someone's getting a round of drinks in then it's significant.
Not sure what the price of lager/bitter/Guinness is in the Red Robin but I doubt that it's a £4.50-5.00 a pint.

| Great to see that, just purely from the perspective that you don’t want to see people not going for the sake is having to pay more for a pint than they would across the road. It’s good to see them listening to people and being open to change and it’s good to hear the first team squad will head in after the game Sunday.
