Russell is a better fullback than a winger, but can play both. That's why I thought that perhaps at some stage of the game we could move Goulding to the wing, Gelling to centre and Russell to fullback.

| Are widnes really that bad? I don't think we could afford to rest Sam and Mossop as well as Pat and Leuluai. I think it will be closer than most people on here think, they have a lot of lads out there ready to prove a point and I just hope the coach and players don't think the way some fans are on here.

| I would leave both of them in the team but place Sam on the bench as backup. Therefore Russell can play full back.
Maybe rest Mossop against London

But fullback is a more important position, maybe better to ease Russell in with a wing spot. Also, he's still not really up to SL fullback standard defensively, IMO. I'd be happy to see Logan given some game time, too.

Charnley
Goulding
Hughes

Mellor

That's the team I would go with to be honest. I'm not convinced that Logan Tomkins has been playing well enough to make the side but I think we do need someone else in the side who can play hooker.
Hughes and Russell together could be a slight worry though. It only needs one weakness for Widnes to really make a game of it.
Oh, and Lukaiaiakiilui? Surely you mean Luakakilaulau? Honestly, it's not difficult to spell.

Something similar to what I would go for, though I would like to see Gelling get a game, possibly put Hughes in the backrow and give one of Hansen, Hock or Farrell the week off?

That would be my vote. I said earlier in the week this was the perfect game for some of the kids to play. I'm looking forward to this one even more now.

At a guess I'd probably say Charnley.

| Sam said in his MEN column a couple of weeks ago that he was expecting to play at stand-off at some stage in the season when the squad gets rotated so I'd bet that he'll play at least part of the game there this Sunday

I would imagine Sam will do the kicking as he was doing it last year when Pat was still out injured and kicked one at Bradford when Pat was getting his breath back. Charnley can kick but has never as far as I can remember been asked to kick for the first team (and when he was in the under 20s Josh Veivers took the goalkicks most of the time). O'Loughlin may have a go if a couple of players have had a go and are doing poorly. I don't think anyone else in the squad would be likely to have a go.

| It will probably be either Sam or Charnley. I'm sure the last time Pat was missing they had a goalkicking shootout to find out who was going to be the kicker.
Chris Tuson and Logan Tomkins have both kicked a single goal for the under 20's, just in case we really get desperate

| So we are pretty sure it will be Sam kicking then? This is serious stuff this fantasy rugby league business.
