The new Wembley left me cold! Looks nice but No atmosphere and that god awfull music being blasted out after the game. Check out the games in the 80's 90's, the atmosphere was created by the crowd at the end of the game. Miles better.

There were fewer in attendance than last year but more than in 2009. Most of the attendances at the new Wembley have been in the mid to high 70,000s so I don't know what the OP is talking about. There were a few patches of red seats in the upper tiers - and no wonder, it's awful up there - but other than that it looked nice and busy bar the usual Club Wembley waste of space.

If the place had been full people will still have moaned.

I really dont know why this thread is on Wigans forum, we did more than enough to fill the stadium.
The empty seats were down to far less neutrals and 'loyal' Leeds fans watching the game from behind their sofas at home.

There was a block of around 150 seats empty in front of me . I was wondering why it was taped/coned off . I found out why when it started raining . The roof was leaking , and it was dripping into the middle of the block .

There were a lot of empty seats, so why were there so many Leeds fans in the 'Wigan End'? I know there is no official segregation in RL because it's a family sport, and not like football, where fans can mix and have banter (we did all that in the pubs before the game) but it still aggravates me when I see 'away' fans in with us. We try to get an atmosphere going, but when a whole block of about a hundred anti-Wiganers are in with us, it kills it. To me, it's not friendly, and it's not tradition: it's annoying and ruins my day.

Within the next 10 years all the best RL players will be over in Oz or defected to RU. P&R must come back. The heartlands must be strengthened. The game must be given back to the fans or the best game in the world will die.'"

OTT reaction!!

If it was over 70,000 then that is still a good crowd. I was in upper tier behind the posts and most empty seats were in the leeds end. We had 30,000 fans in the stadium, sorry mate but that is a fine damn effort!

Just seems to me you want P&R back and your using Saturday's crowd to somehow validate your point. icon_rolleyes.gif

Here here!!!! Thought it was just me. It really does annoy me. Is there anything that we can do about it though, other than finding the fusebox? DW is sometimes just as bad. I might write a letter! That'll sort it!

This was just before KO. Ignore the Club Wembley seats and draw a line down halfway. Great effort by Wigan, so it's actually not our problem. If a [itown [/ilike Wigan can do it, why can't a big [icity [/ilike Leeds?

And it was exactly the same on the other side. The estimation about 30K Wiganers does seem pretty low when you consider that.

Quote: SthelensPie-eater "To put it at wemberly keeps it special but to northen teams being there means that getting there for most people will be hard and expensive especially if its for a whole family to go down, Would a northern venue mean more bums on seats who knows. Also dont forget there is a lot on this weekend for neutrals creamfields, Leeds and reading, Matthews st.

All the being said Wigan end was buzzing and atmosphere was awsome well done pie eaters Back on the perch and backed by the fans.'"

I'd love to meet a neutral who chose the Matthew St Festival over going to Wembley, just to laugh at them icon_lol.gif

Rubbish when I started watching Wigan in the early eighties Wigan got 6K,Hull 8K ,HullKr 5K and everyone else many less.

Attendances are much higher these days. The game is not dying a slow death at all.

Times are hard and frankly less people care about the CC. It's the same with the FA cup in Wendyball.
