I think fixtures against the smaller sides attendances wont be that big due to the lack of away support. However against teams like ourselves and Warrington you could of got attendances of over 20,000 IMO.'"
I think 18k is about bang on tbh. For regular league games anything over 20k is too much and would probably leave the stadium half empty (like ours has been with 12/13k against the teams with the poorest away support).
Should be some excellent atmospheres next year with Wigan and Saints both in stadia that the fixture deserves, plus Wire who will have the extra capacity from filling in 2 of the corners. And with the new Salford ground and Widnes in the SL its nice to see all the modern stadia on the right side of the pennines with all the Yorkshire teams (apart from Hull FC) lagging well behind!

It's shocking that Hull and Huddersfield are the only sides in Yorkshire to have covered away ends. Yet it still doesn't seem to deter fans from teams such as Warrington and Wigan from travelling well. Whereas Yorkshire clubs bring over a distinct lack of away support to some of the best RL grounds in the country.

| It looks decent not quite sure why they chose 18,000 as no offence but the only its going to reach capacity is when Wigan & Wire show up and perhaps for the odd international and maybe a Cup Semi if chosen I would have thought 15,000 would be better for Saints, Its also unusual but quite nice of Saints in those pictures to advertise the pitch where (Legends) Sam Tomkins, Lockers, Richards & Carmont will be playing.

| Our biggest rivals but I'm pleased for them in a way!
We (RL) can't afford to have one of our biggest clubs running financial losses as has been mentioned this week. This new place will be open 7 days a week and bringing in revenue every day.
Main event of course will be match day but the other 6 days are so important in making a stadium pay its way. It's their own standium and they will have to bear all the costs for its upkeep, which won't be small.
Don't know if they will be letting a ground share with anyone!
We need all our clubs to at least break even financially and make a profit where possible.
There is no reason Saints shouldn't be making a profit after the first season in there.
As has been mentioned, it is excellent that we have so many of our local clubs with such excellent facilities. This can only help generate support both home and away.

| Looking very good and ideally suited for rugby league, i think the 18,000 capacity is a good figure and Saints will be looking to attract more and more supporters over the next few years.
I hope one day that Wigan can do the same.

| I like the look of it and look forward to playing (whupping) them there.
How good would it be if the first time we play them there we knock seven shades of stuff out of them?
[sizeor just beat them.[/size

right, well if your coming from wigan its probably best described as being on the far side of st helens, as if your heading to widnes. Ever noticed a big silver/white Gas silo type thing in the st helens skyline? its pretty much next to that.

I think that one day Wigan Rugby will be the main team at the DW as the Latics will eventually find their level. At the moment they are punching above their weight and are existing on good money from the sale of star players. Some time in the future they will not have star players to sell and will probably end up in Division 1 or 2.
I don't wish this upon them but one has to be a realist.
They may last a few more years in the Premiership but relegation is inevitable. When that day comes Wigan R L will be oh so necessary as tenants as 4,000 fans for soccer will look ridiculous at the DW.

| Salty, I remember standing on the Kop at Central Park watching Wigan play Workington in a league game one Saturday afternoon accompanied by about 2,500 other hardy souls. Thing haven't always been as rosie as they are now

Which is why Wigan fans shouldn't be jealous. Yes in an ideal world we'd have our own ground but it would have to be one big enough for Wigan. With a ground the size of Saints many fans wouldn't get to see the big matches live.
Saints' new ground is great for them, but that's because (I don't mean this to be patronising, it's just a fact) they are a smaller club than Wigan.

You must sell out every week then in your tiny stadium?
I reckon we have only had a handful of games this season where the attendance would be able to fit inside the HJ so for you to join in is rather funny
