1883.jpg Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

You will have to pay big for King, he won't like giving up his £300k pa contract.

| Some interesting players OOC.
O'meley would be an immense signing.
Cashmere would be a cheaper option but imo would be a great buy.
Matt King should be considered for the right price.
Stefan Ratchford would be a useful aquisition, can play anywhere really from 1-7. So could be used to replace Deacon at 6/7 or to fight it out in the centre's with the likes of Marsh and Charnley.
For next year we need quite abit of extra experience due to the loss of older heads like Gleeson, Coley, Deacon, Carmont and poss Hoffman. We also need adequate replacements position wise aswell. We look extremely weak in the centres, whilst we also need an extra Prop and cover at the least in the halfbacks. Would love to see IL to try and tempt Cas with a few £ for Rangi Chase though.

[quote="headhunter":lnxdgxk2]Union people are idiots. They almost universally accept that league is a better, faster game played by better athletes, yet for some reason they continue to disregard and belittle it. That game is tedious as hell from start to finish. If he'd ever played or even bothered to give more than a fleeting chance to league he would realise that the game is far more 'technical' than Union ever could be. Booting the ball into touch, scrummaging and forming rucks and mauls aren't areas that involve any skill, technique or mental capacity whatsoever. These are clumsy, outdated facets of the game that are also extremely uninteresting to watch and thus have to be defended in some way by people who are too prejudiced to see the truth.[/quote:lnxdgxk2]: |

Would be a beltin buy IMO and would be a good career move for him to possibly push his career to the next level and start challenging for an England shirt.
Other than that we need a FB and a class centre to replace Carmont in the next 12-18 months.
Class FB is priority as I think Sam has shown hes a stop gap there and his best place is S/o. Problem is there are no good british FB at the minute apart from Widdop who I cant see coming - Briscoe would have been up there a couple of seasons, ago but his career has nosedived to almost Simon Haughton proportions. Would have been quite happy with Lance O'hohaia had stains not gone for him.
Only other players I would perhaps like to see us move for would be Matty Bowen, Duggan, or Boyd but could only realistically see Bowen considering it at this point. Also don't know when bowen is off contract.
Would love to see a wigan side in the next year or so with Bowen at FB, Charnley and Richards ( he re-signs) on the wing with Joel and another WC centre in the centres. Finch and Sam in the Halves, with someone like Lunt starting 9 and tommy interchange 9 or vice versa. Add that to our increasingly awsome pack and we'd be worldbeaters

That would be one hell of a pack if they managed to sign Tony Puletua.

| Watched a very impressive Cowboys last night and the commentator said Matty Bowen is off contract and hopes to finish his career in Northern England next year. He remains a world class full back, and if it wasn't for Billy the Kid Slater, Matty would be the worlds best. If we havent started enquiring, now is the time to start!!!! Please Mr L. Elsewhere, Idris is everything Pryce could be, but has been signed on elsewhere next year. Young lad Windopp is looking very promising and we should look at getting him now before he is priced out of the market.

| Dowes??? Seriously - has been very poor last couple of seasons. Cant beleive someone suggested swapping him for Coley!
As for Matty Bowen, heavily linked with Hull FC for next year

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good

sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go

| Would love for us to sign Ratchford, he is pure class!
I hope Coley signs for another year but if he doesn't we must be looking at TOP players who have lots of experience. O'Meley would be quality and I wouldn't say no to Puletua to be honest.

I don't think he is but we don't have any chance of signing Morley, Peacock, Graham or Mason (who will be awesome when he finds his feet).
If we kept O'Meley fit then he would be an improvement on Coley.

| In terms of positions we could need to sign players in dependant on who we retain i'd be happy to take a realistic look at the following-
King
Ratchford
O'Meely
Cashmere
Carvell
Lunt
Andy Ellis
As I say alot depends on who stays and who goes and i'd guess most of those will stay were they are but I wouldn't be against any of them.
